Chapter 47 : Back in Myrkr

Poppy’s POV

“What is your name?” I asked the human apprentice. I had just asked King Thurston to step outside since I believed she would be more helpful if only I spoke to her, and not Erik’s incredibly intimidating father.

We’d been in the Myrkrson longhouse for about a day and a half. I didn’t want to be too far from Erik because I wanted to be here when he woke up. The human captive had been silent, tied to a chair for a better part of that time.

Thurston was getting nothing from her, but I could feel that she was starting to get restless and it was time to change tactics.

The trek back to the main Myrkr village felt shorter than the journey to the campsite, but I also felt energized in a way I didn’t before. Magnus dragged Erik back on the sled meant for me while I walked on unsteady legs.

He was out cold, but he needed to sleep. The man walked through the gates of the Underworld for me, he deserved some rest.
