Caught Red Handed

Shit' hurry!!"

Arian noticed them crawling through the walls, so she immediately put on a long robe and gave chase. Thankfully, that took some time, allowing Asher and Lance to crawl out of the crack and rendezvous with Ember.

And as soon as Lance was out, they ran for their lives, Lance had no idea that Arian would be back this early, so he didn't expect to see her.

But he just couldn't control himself when he saw this 'holy' priestess giving herself the business.

"Move"

Lance directed as Ember proceeded to open the door and run out, at the same time Arian had made her way out of her room and had begun chasing

"Go"

The distance between Lance's room and the outside of the house was but a flight of stairs, but that alone couldn't help them.

In the last minute, Lance threw the manuscripts to Asher before using his body to ram into Arian. Effectively stopping her in her tracks.

"Boom!"

They collided as Arian landed directly on top of Lance, her boobs literally swallowing his face. And strangely, his hand found its way onto her ass.

"What's going on??"

From up the stairs, a man's voice echoed, and beside this man was a woman, both having a look of confusion on their faces. They were both still recovering from 'work' when they heard the sound of heavy footsteps.

The man even picked up a sword, but upon reaching here, they saw the priestess laying face down on their son.

Quickly recovering, Arian lifted herself up from Lance and moved to the side. The impact had surprised her, leaving her speechless for a time. However, she quickly regained herself and looked over at Lance with hate - filled eyes.

"This pervert was spying on me!!!"

She immediately accused him of being a peeping Tom, naturally this scene made Lance frown. It wasn't like she was some innocent priestess or anything. Lance had even seen her touching herself to the sound of his parents doing it, several times in the hallway.

If anyone could accuse Lance of being a pervert, it wouldn't be her. But the case was as such, Lance was not even supposed to be here. She only needed to prove this, and he would be in big trouble. Lance had to act fast.

"She's lying!! I came here because I saw a suspicious ghost like figure sneak into the house"

"I was only afraid of seeing any of you hurt, so I ran in, to alert you. That's all I could do. I….just wanted to help"

Lance knew that if he let the priestess speak anymore he would be placed at a disadvantage, so he concocted a sob story on the spot.

"Bullshit!! If that was the case, why would I chase you?"

Arian retorted. However, before she could continue, Lance rushed with his counter.

"I saw… I saw the ghost - like figure hovering beside you while you sat beside father's door, I thought it was doing something to you, so I reacted. Then….you began chasing me!!"

This time Lance's response was laced with poison, not only did he ruin her credibility to give testimony since she would have been under the influence of the spirit, his words had created a situation where she would have to explain what she was doing by the father's door in the first place.

Of course, all he told were lies. But the thought of the priestess touching herself to the sound of her husband struck a chord in Lance's mother's heart.

There was disgust, there was disdain, but there was also another feeling. It was one anyone would feel from another woman looking at her man.

Jealousy.

This feeling caused women to lose all sense of reason. It caused them to go on the offensive.

"Is what he said true?"

Lance's mother Laura asked. She was mostly reserved, for her to speak, meant that what Lance said truly worked her up, and the priestess too noticed it.

"Let me handle it honey"

Escanor calmed his wife down and gazed over at the priestess with an annoyed expression. Why would she be so stupid as to offend his wife?

"Hmp!!"

Lance's mother shook her hand and drew it from Escanor's embrace, then she proceeded downstairs to pick her son up. However, before leaving, she looked into the priestess's eyes and said,

"You were hired to get rid of a spirit, and until now, you've not been able to do that. What use are you, then?"

Lance's mother sneered before taking her son in her hands and proceeding to walk back upstairs.

Meanwhile, Lance's father sighed, he didn't do anything, but it seemed like he was in trouble too. All because of the stupid priestess.

Later that night, Lance's father spoke to the priestess and gave her several ultimatums and restrictions. She had to exorcize the spirit, else he would report her to the church.

Barn

"Where is it ?"

Lance's voice resounded. Right now, the sun hung up In the sky, illuminating all that its rays touched.

The night was a hectic one and, even though Lance had essentially won that confrontation, there was still a lot more that needed to be done.

"Hmm" Asher and Ember scanned the environment before proceeding to reach into his clothes to pull out two manuscripts.

The first was the water Bombardment spell, and the other was the old spell Lance had picked up from the ground.

"Nice…"

Lance stretched his hand to collect the manuscript, but before he could take it, he felt a slight shiver run down his spine.

Asher noticed this too and quickly tucked the two manuscripts back into his clothes. Someone had just popped out behind them and was staring them down.

And who other than Arian would do such a thing?
