"Ahh"

Lance turned back and saw Arian staring at them With cold eyes. The expression on her face showed that She was very annoyed and apparently did not want to be here. However, it seemed like she didn't really have a choice.

"I came here to apologize for the misunderstanding"

Arian struggled to say these words, but they came out, nonetheless, She had been viciously grilled by Lance's father, and didn't have the chance to even retort. She was forced to either apologize or leave the household entirely.

And she knew that she couldn't leave, all this time spent here will go to waste? There was no way she would agree to that. However, there was a more compelling reason for her to stay behind.

She was absolutely broke. If not, why would she come to a backwater part of the kingdom like this? . She knew she needed the shelter of the Naldir family and the life of the spirit before heading back to the church, else she would only be going back to suffer.

"Ah? You, apologize?"

Lance was stunned by her apology, he couldn't believe his eyes, even though she knew for a fact that she was in the right, she still apologized? That was completely out of character for the usually pompous priestess.

"Looks like she knows when to bow, huh?"

Lance had mistaken the priestess for an arrogant fool that didn't know what was good for her, so he was shocked to see her apology.

"Yes, it was my mistake. I wasn't thinking straight and was under the influence of the spirit"

Arian continued, though she did not really mean any of this she had to say it anyway.

"Well, I understand how hard it is to resist the powers of a spirit, even for a priestess of your magnitude, so, I accept your apology."

Lance spoke as if he was in a position of authority. Every word that exited his mouth was filled with pride and smugness. And why not? He had made his enemy bow before even enacting his original plan.

This of course made Arian mad, but she bottled it up immediately. She would not let Lance toy with her emotions again.

"Hmm, bummer"

Seeing that his words didn't affect Arian, Lance shook his head.

"Now if you'd excuse us, we are a bit busy"

Lance shooed away the priestess before proceeding to turn back to Asher and Ember. Completely ignoring the priestess presence.

However, that was not the end of it. Arian coughed to draw their attention back to her not long after.

"Cough cough!!"

"Hm? Is there something else?"

"Well, yes"

"hmm, I'm all ears"

Lance turned back once again to listen to Arian, in truth, he wanted her gone as fast as possible. Asher still had the manuscript in his clothes. If she were to catch a whiff of it, it would attract trouble.

" I need your help in catching the spirit. I know its asking for alot but, I already ordered some special instruments from the church, but I need some help to man them"

Arian spoke hurriedly, she really didn't want to ask, but the pressure on her was too much. She had to be done with it once and for all. And Lance and the others were the only ones that could use magic to her knowledge.

"I…don't know what to tell you, miss, but we aren't really believers and I don't think…"

Lance had no idea why she was asking him. Not too long ago, he had made it known to her that he would not be joining the church, but now she was asking him to join her in an exorcism? It sounded crazy.

"Don't be in a hurry to say no. I can teach you that spell in Asher's hand as a down payment. At least it would accelerate the process"

As soon as those words left her mouth, Lance, and the other's face became ugly and caution became visible on their face. She had seen the manuscript? That was bad.

"Look, I don't care how you got it, its really none of my business. I only want to do my job and leave this place."

She was exhausted, it wasn't like she wanted to stay here forever. She just didn't have any choice, and now that this place wasn't as welcoming as before, it was time for her to let go and leave.

"Oh, if that's the case then, I guess it's okay"

Lance agreed, but Asher still maintained caution. It wasn't clear to him why Lance was agreeing to something obviously dangerous. What if she decided to show the manuscript to his father? Wouldn't that prove that Lance Stole it?

"It's okay…if she does anything stupid, we will just say she stole it,"

The priestess was in a very disadvantaged position right now. Even if she showed the manuscript to Lance's father, she would hardly get an upper hand, and all this was because of one person.

Lance's mother, Laura, she already disliked Arian from just that one incident. Unless she could erase Laura's memory, she will always be at a disadvantage. All Lance wanted right now was for Arian to leave his home.

"Okay....."

Asher pulled out the water bombardment manuscripts and tossed it towards Arian. It flipped through the air until, eventually, it landed directly at her feet.

"Water Bombardment.....this is pretty nice, good for defense and offense, especially for you"

Arian mused At Lance's choice, it was a pretty good spell for someone with large mana reserves like Lance. If he could master it, he wouldn't have problems fighting above his level.

However, it was one thing to make a good choice, but this spell was a grade 1 spell. Lance would not be able to learn the spell easily.

In fact, Arian believed that it was absolutely impossible for him to do that. A good talent didn't mean that you could do the impossible. There were differences in grades for a reason.

But since they wanted to learn, she would show them the basics and see if they might even scratch the surface
