Chapter 33

A few hours later, Lance advances towards a carriage surrounded by guards at the main gate of the naldir family compound

On this carriage was an insignia that read 'Alduwin'. Due to recent activities, Lance had been forced to learn as much as possible about his family, so he knew what it meant

The Aldwin insignia represented the faction his father and wilder belonged to. The nobility of Elnor is separated into two sects, the Nobles by birth and the Nobles by merit.

The Nobles by birth were people like Lance who were born into noble families. Meanwhile the Nobles by merit were those bestowed nobility by the kingdom for meritorious achievements. Under these two sects were various factions, and one of which was the Alduwin faction.

It was a faction under the Nobles by merit and was the faction his father was a part of, as such, Lance had the opportunity to join the aludwin faction. Normally, this wouldn't be possible, but since he was not a third - generation descendant of a noble then he could join. But that was not his goal at the moment.

"Who's this?"

As Lance approached the carriage, Wilder's voice resounded from within it as his red head stuck out from inside and his gaze fell upon a figure beside Lance

This person had a sleeveless shirt with a short skirt on. Her boobs were ample with beautiful curves, but the most eye-catching thing about her was the mask on her face.

"Uh."

The lady beside Lance was Arian, and if anyone could see her face, they would see that she was very embarrassed. Her, a priestess of the octagon Church had been forced to wear such a revealing shirt in public? That was too much. Luckily, she had this mask on so no one would recognize her.

"She's a friend."

Lance responded while scratching his head awkwardly. Though he was the one who made Arian put on such revealing clothes, he didn't know that it would draw this much attention. He really just wanted to dress her the opposite of how the nun would usually dress, so as not to draw attention.

"Hehe, a friend, huh? Looks like you didn't waste any time to enjoying your new gifts"

Wilder commented with a slight chuckle. Lance had just turned 18, meaning the seal on his privates had been lifted, with that, he gained the ability to go around looking for women and apparently the boy was talented in this field.

"Not even a day after, and you already got your hands on such a hottie, he-he like father like son"

Wilder mused in his head. He didn't even think of where Lance had met this girl from, there were several young ladies in the compound thanks to the 'spirit' and most of them were grown now.

"You jest uncle wilder, Are we setting off now?"

Lance asked wilder. Several guards were already surrounding the carriage with their mounted horses, it was apparent that they were about to set off.

"Yes let's go"

"Hm!!"

Lance proceeded to get into the carriage and not long after, they set off into the distance.

There was no need to worry, Escanor Was still in the main house, and as long as he remained, there would be no surprise attacks. He was just so powerful that the church had to wait for him to leave last time to attack.

But now that he was here, there would be no attack on the Naldir family household. Unless they had a dead wish.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"And you lost how many men?"

In a grand church hall that smelt of scented candles and old books. A woman stood at the altar looking up at the cascading lights falling from the colorful windows.

"About 30 your holiness."

Behind her were several men in guard uniform kneeling respectfully with their heads down.

"30 men lost to one of the winter's swordsmen I can understand, but you lost to a bunch of good for nothing guards? Shameful!!"

"But there was…"

"I don't want to hear it, you have brought Shame unto our lord"

The lady on the altar said firmly with no reservations. Clearly, she was beyond pissed.

"Give us another chance, your holiness"

The guards hearing those words kowtowed, the lady in front of them was a ruthless person. Even though her position described her as kind, they all knew how she really was.

"Sigh!! There's no need. Just let them be"

Arian, who had reported the case to them, had gone missing in the forest with 2 paladins. Honestly, there was nothing she could do to make this valid. It was all over. There was no need to continue fighting and risk offending the noble faction.

"Yes, your holiness."

The guards heeded her command and rushed out of the hall, leaving the lady alone in the church hall.
