Chapter 10

[5star Restaurant]

Luca was about to go home but the princess stopped him and invited him to dinner alone.

"I'd like to talk about you being the Mermaid Guardian Luca."

Luca seriously stared at Hannah while eating.

"What is it then?"

"I would like to know the details about your contract with that mermaid."

"Why do I have to tell you?"

"Well, I am the princess here and I have the right to know whether you forced her to do so."

Luca stopped eating and said

"She gave me fishes in exchange for a dress. All the golds I earned by those fishes that she hunts will all be given to her. I also hunt my own fishes sometimes too. So, there's nothing to worry about it."

The Princess smiled and said.

"That's a great thing then. It's a good choice that I have my heart has fallen for you."

"Stop with the jokes okay?"

"I'm not joking okay?"

Luca sulk because the princess kept on insisting that she loves him.

"Just tell me what do you want in exchange for hiding the truth that she is a mermaid!"

The princess thought for a while and then blushed while saying.

"J...Just spend time with me whenever I call you then."

"That's it?"

"Can you do atleast that?"

"That's easy. Well then, I have to go she can't hold out being in a human form."

The princess then stopped Luca and said

"No need, my brother might still be there."

"That's the point, your brother might know that she is a mermaid, I don't want others to know and be a slave just to hide her secret. Especially towards that idiot brother of yours."

The princess giggles and said

"Well, as you know, my brother is..."

She then approached closely to luca just to lower down her voice and said

"also, a mermaid. ----a half mermaid to be precise."

Luca was surprise.

"Well, even if you tell everyone the secret, the royal family will just clear his name immediately. So, in the end you can't make me your slave just to hide his secret hahaha"

"What a shame!"

The princess smiled and suddenly showed a little bit of her clevedge to Luca's view and said.

"Well, I can be your slave any time anyways."

Luca then removed his table napkin in his neck and throw it on the princess face.

"I'm leaving."

"Hey wait Luca, I'm just kidding don't be mad haha."

[Living Room]

Prince Nathan stayed to wait for the dresses to arrive just to assure Muriel. Both Emy and Jay are cooking in the kitchen and when the free dress arrives with an additional event gowns for Muriel brought by the butler of the Prince. Muriel was fascinated immediately.

"Wooowww... Is this free too??"

"No... Actually, I bought that for you as thanks. So, I hope you like it Muriel."

Muriel suddenly hugged Prince Nathan.

"Yey! Thank you so much Nathan! I liked it a lot."

The door suddenly open and Luca saw Muriel hugging Nathan.

***Tsk! That idiot is still really here huh. ***

Emy then suddenly saw luca.

"Brother Luca! Did you have dinner already? I'm cooking your favorite."

Both Muriel and Prince Nathan stopped hugging when they heard Luca was home.

"Yeah, I already have dinner Emy. Just let the prince ate it If he likes."

"Oh? Did you have dinner with my sister Mr. Luca?"

Luca sulk because Prince Nathan is like intentionally bringing up the topic about her sister Princess Hannah.

"Oh, I guess silence means yes then."

Luca saw the dresses on the table and thought that Nathan bought it for Muriel. Luca then walk away from the living room and entered his room.

***She found someone who will bought her dresses then. I guess she doesn't need me anymore. ****

Emy then invited Prince Nathan and Muriel to dinner but Muriel's necklace suddenly sparks. It means her magic power is draining and she have to go to the Underground pool to replenish her magic. She immediately stood up and was about to run to Luca because she might not make it to the pool, but Prince Nathan suddenly stopped her on the way.

"I'll take you there."

Prince Nathan suddenly knows that there is an underground pool in this mansion. As soon as they entered the door, Muriel turned into a mermaid and she was shocked because Prince Nathan immediately recognized it and carried her towards the pool.

"H..How did you know Nathan?"

Nathan suddenly showed his necklace that is similar to Muriel's necklace.

"I am also a mermaid. Half mermaid to be exact."

Muriel was surprised when Nathan swim together with her and saw his tails.

"Wow!!! But, how can you stay in a human leg form for so long? Do you have a lot of magic powers?"

"Nope, this amulet I have is designed by my grandfather, it doesn't consume a lot of magic powers. And that amulet you got was designed by him too. Actually, That's his proto type.

"Then is Princess Hannah also a mermaid??"

"Unfortunately, she's not, she is the full-blooded royalty and was actually the crown princess before but recently, I have become the crown prince due to an alliance my father signed from the neighboring kingdom. I'm her half brother."

"Eh? What's going to happen to her then?"

"Well, he will be wed to a king in that kingdom."

Muriel immediately was furious and said

"No! She must not accept it like what I did!"

Prince Nathan was surprised and said

"Oh? You are also to be wed with someone too?"

"Yeah! That's why I run away then luca was there to save me and bought this house for me using my big pearl in my room."

"OH? Is that so? Well then, why is he living with you here then? This is your house, right?"

"Well, I actually told him so, because I don't know what to do living with humans. He then introduced me to Emy and Jay who were the ones who took care of my everyday life. "

"Are you fine living with that pervert Muriel? Like honestly?"

"Well, honestly speaking, a single woman living with a single man in 1 roof will definitely make all man less likely to fall in love with you. You might not get married forever."

Muriel thought for a while and said

"You're right though. But honestly, I don't want to get married to a human hehe I don't believe in little mermaid's fairytale too Nathan haha."

"Oh? Really? Me too hahaha"

Both of them laughed but they don't know that luca was there at the door.

"Anyway Muriel, my advice to you, you should have not allowed luca to live in the same house as you. You might get raped while you are sleeping. Aren't you afraid of that to happen?"

"Well, you got a point though. I'll tell him to move out someday, I guess?"

"Anyways, you can still be friends even if both of you are not in the same house right?"

"Hmmm... Yeah you're right. But I still do want to live with Emy and Jay though. Emy is like my little sister and Jay is my human father now hahaha And I super-duper love their cooking."

"Hahaha that's great then."

Luca heard everything and left the pool area without a sound. He would just want to clarify what happened between him and Hannah that time but he didn't expect to heard those words from Muriel's mouth.

As soon as Muriel's magic power was replenished both of them went upstairs and the prince was about to leave but he suddenly gave an amulet to Muriel.

"Here take this."

"It has the same function with my necklace. Its just my spare amulet and I can ask my grandfather to give me one anyway haha."

"Really? Then thank you Nathan! You're really the best!"

Nathan then bid farewell to Muriel.

[Morning]

"Sister Muriel, its breakfast time."

"Okay!"

[Lunch]

"Sister Muriel, its lunch time!"

"Okay"

[Dinner]

"Sister Muriel, its dinner time!"

"Okay Emy"

Muriel's Day repeated like that. After 2 weeks of the same repetition, she suddenly realizes that Luca never came to eat with the three of them.

"Hey Jay, Where's Luca? Why isn't he eating with us these days?"

"Well, I actually don't know. I just sometimes saw him leaving early in the morning, and then came back late at night. He also doesn't fail to supply our everyday needs too from laundry down to these foods that we are eating now."

"Yeah, Brother Luca is so mature and he doesn't want father to work for a while because he is in recuperation mode hahaha"

"HAHAHA Well, I hope he doesn't over work too much right?"

"Yeah father, I hope he's eating well. I actually left some food for him always too, just in case but he never ate even a single bite from it though."

Emy was suddenly sad. Muriel was surprised and thought that she never gave any fishes to Luca ever since that day.

****Maybe he's over working just for the three of us to eat well? ****

"Well, honestly you two, I never saw Luca again after I saw him the other day leaving early morning. He only left a ton of gold with a note take care. It's as if he's wandering again anywhere."

"Tsk! That pervert will just have fun flirting around ladies with big boobies."

"Anyways, why do you ask sister Muriel? Didn't he talked to you when the prince is here before? Didn't he says any word to you or a goodbye or something?"

"What? He talked to me? When?"

"Well, I told him you and the prince are at the underground pool that day. He was looking for you to tell you something important."

"Really?"

"Yep!"

Muriel then realized something. Maybe luca heard her saying that she only wants to live with Emy and Jay. She suddenly felt that its her fault that Luca was gone.

"Man, I miss Luca, He's like my son, you know."

Emy suddenly was in teary eyes.

"I miss brother Luca too"

"I hope he comes home safe."

Muriel suddenly remembered all the things he said to Nathan that day. She then stood up and run towards Luca's room.

"Hey Luca are you there!!??"

She kept on knocking the door and no one was making a sound inside.

"Hey open up! I want to talk to you!"

The louder Muriel's voice is the harder she knocks the door.

"I know you're there so pleaseee! Open up!!"

The door suddenly opened. She immediately entered without permission and looked for luca.

"Luca! Where are you?"

She kept looking for Luca but when she looks back at the door, she suddenly realizes that the door was just forcibly opened by her hard knocks.

"Y...You're kidding, right? Hey come on! Just come out! Stop hiding from me!"

As she roams around the room, she suddenly saw Luca's gold merchant card left on the table near the bed and his room is full of dust. Its as if no one has actually lived and stayed in the room. She then felt conscience about what she said towards Nathan.

"I...I... I didn't mean it..."

Tears suddenly flowed down from her eyes and her world was devastated. She cried so hard that it echoes inside the house. Emy and Jay heard it and immediately checked her out. And when Jay and Emy saw luca's room, both of them suddenly cried too. Muriel saw the both of them and said

"I...I'm sorry.... It's.... It's my fault."
