There were several invisible aircraft carriers approaching them from the sea. Due to their invisibility, they could only see a large expanse of ocean and the dark night. However, Huang Kai noticed the refraction caused by the invisibility, which lifted a portion of the sea surface and the night, creating a strange sight.
Everyone grabbed their light machine guns and heavy machine guns, put on bulletproof vests and helmets, then neatly ran out of the giant robots, forming a line surrounding their giant robots, all watching the phenomenon created by the refraction on the sea surface as it got closer. They tightened their grip on the machine guns, ready to pull the trigger.
Behind them, there were ten laser turrets capable of piercing through any tough metal with extremely high heat, a new product from the research team. Its practicality depended on the results of this battle.
The wind blew the dust on the ground. All of them were just strong, tall humans but stood like a mountain range blocking the path of those invisible aircraft carriers. However, those carriers couldn't see anything, they just kept moving forward.
Finally, those aircraft carriers deactivated their invisibility mode, and some shiny objects leaped from their decks. Those were the monsters they had mentioned, the robots! Some robots landed right in front of them, while others soared into the sky and rapidly descended, continuously firing their machine guns at the ground.
"Warriors! Do not fear! For your homeland! For your family! For your lives! Fight!" General Nolan shouted these words with the most resounding voice, igniting a fierce determination in everyone's hearts.
Everyone let out a roar and, as previously planned, the first three rows of soldiers aimed at the freshly landed robots and pulled the triggers, while the back three rows of soldiers fired at the robots in the sky.
The laser turrets demonstrated their firepower advantage, and those robots were instantly pierced and exploded by the heat capable of penetrating metal, while the shields in front of the soldiers operating the turrets provided protection.
However, the robots' marksmanship was as accurate as ever, and each bullet hit the vulnerable parts of the front-row soldiers' bulletproof vests. Although not fatal, the pain was enough to make them faint, and within a few seconds, those who had fainted would either die from internal injuries or excessive bleeding.
Ming Fa was tough and could endure this, and so was Christine. They were both in the front row, entrusting their lives to the soldiers behind them, believing that these back-row soldiers could prevent their heads from being pierced by the robots in the sky and allow them to clear the robots on the ground safely.
Even though the situation was already challenging, the aircraft carriers decided to make it more thrilling. They aimed all their cannons at the giant robots and fired!
The giant robots endured the onslaught of dozens of shells, only trembling for a moment and then standing firm, as if they were godly figures looking down upon the world.
So the aircraft carriers aimed their cannons at the cliff and fired!
The cliff came under attack from the shells, and all the robots standing in that position were engulfed by the force of the shells. The ground that was once connected was shattered, falling into the sea in an orderly manner and creating a massive splash, leaving a part of the cliff missing.
The soldiers closest to the cliff, although not engulfed by the force of the shells, were still affected by it. They were pushed to the ground by the strength of the explosion, and in that moment, the clever robots did not spare them. They raised their guns and fired at the struggling soldiers, whose bulletproof vests had been torn apart by the force of the shells, leaving them defenseless. They could only accept their fate, letting the bullets pass through their bodies and then die from internal injuries or excessive bleeding.
At this point, the robots in the sky had all landed, and the back-row soldiers could finally stop looking up and help the front-row soldiers deal with the robots on the ground.
Then, a second wave of shells came, hitting one of their machine guns accurately. As the machine gun was destroyed by the shell, the force of the explosion began to engulf everything around it. The giant robot behind the machine gun was affected by the force and lost balance, falling heavily to the ground.
More robots rushed to the deck and, with a powerful jump, further increased the number of their troops. Ming Fa and Nolan realized that they couldn't drag this out any longer, or the robots would multiply, and they'd either be exhausted to death or beaten to death.
"BACK OFF! BACK OFF!" General Nolan had no choice but to give this command.
Everyone quickly retreated, but their bodies were still facing the robots, and their guns continued to spit out more bullets. They kept moving backward,
but many soldiers were still hit by the robots, make them accelerating the retreat.
General Nolan had reached the entrance to the giant robot but chose not to go up. Instead, he stopped and fired to protect the soldiers.
These soldiers all had something to protect, and once the protectors were lost, the things to be protected would be destroyed.
And what Nolan was doing now was protecting these "protectors," or rather, these "protectors" were what he wanted to protect.
Seeing that everyone had entered the entrance, he holstered his gun, rushed toward the entrance in a sprint, but his abdomen was hit by a robot. The searing pain spread from his abdomen to his entire body within seconds, as if it was tearing him apart.
At that moment, he was just ten steps away from entering the entrance.
The machine gun in his hand fell on the slope and slid quickly to the ground, and the robots put away their guns, ready to collect the bodies of the human soldiers for experimentation.
The entrance unexpectedly closed. It seemed that the automatic emergency system had been activated.
It looked like his life was about to end here. He smiled for a moment, lost his strength, and fell backward...
"General, you shouldn't worry us, your subordinates, so much!" Ming Fa recognized the owner of the annoying voice, and this owner, despite the door slowly closing, rushed towards the general.
It was Peter!
Everyone wanted to help, but Huang Kai rushed ahead. Surprisingly, he used his bare hands to support the door, his strength and bulging veins making the door move slightly. Others rushed to help, while Ming Fa and Christine searched for the button that controlled the door system. Once the button was pressed, the door would stop closing.
"General, you really should lose weight, you're so heavy!" Peter kept yelling and dodging the bullets from the robots, while making his way to the door.
The door moved again, and everyone pulled as hard as they could.
Peter made a final leap, took a deep breath, and jumped with all his might!
He succeeded! He got through the door just in time, and the door closed, blocking the bullets.
"Alright! PUNCH IT!" General Nolan found out he was still alive. Before he could even celebrate, he quickly barked the command into the intercom.
The pilot of the giant robot heard the order and immediately revved the engines.
The eyes of the giant robot gleamed as its legs powered up, struggling to find a balance that could help it stand. Once it managed to stand, it looked like an impassable mountain.
The battleship's artillery struck again, but the damage it caused was like scratches on a surface. Before the battleship could even process, it was sunk by the explosion from the giant robot's head.
"Alright! We might not know if we'll win or lose, but we are alive, and we have the power to protect what we cherish! Now! I give the order! Just keep moving forward! Don't look back! Anyway, We've gotta GEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTT OUT OF HERE!!!" Ignoring the pain in his abdomen, Nolan let out a fierce command, standing tall like an immovable mountain in everyone's eyes.
The giant robot turned around, ignoring the machine gun fire, and left the cliff.
Mingfa and Christine found the button, and then they furrowed their brows.
The button had already been pressed.
