Audition (1)
Amy was sleeping in her room and a knock on the door woke her up.
It was the voice of housekeeper calling her downstairs: "Miss get up quickly.it's already past 9:00 in the morning. Mr.Richard has been waiting for you downstairs for about an hour."
"Okay give me 5 minutes." Amy pushed the quilt on the side and sat on her bed. After returning home last night, she watched movies till 3 a.m in the morning and doesn't know when she went to the bed and got asleep.
Amy's dressing speed was very fast and she got ready in just 20 minutes. She chose a pink outfit for today's audition, looking youthful and lively.
Ellie in the movie is a girl who likes to wear pink clothes and has a very cheerful temperament. Looking into the mirror, Amy found her image very close to Ellie's in the script.
She went downstairs and saw Richard sitting on the sofa reading some papers.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting." She said and sat on the sofa opposite to Richard. "Would you mind waiting for me for a few more minutes. I have to do my breakfast so I can meet the producers with the healthy and fresh mind.
Richard was in a good mood. He said :
"Do it quickly, we don't have much time."
Although he is very nervous for today's audition but he believes that there is no one who can remain indifferent to Amy's beauty and her face. Her good acting is a plus point to her exceptional good looks while for others beauty is a plus point.
"Legally blonde" is a typical chick movie, that is, the heroine and plot are responsible for supporting the whole movie. The investment of 18 million US dollars in a chick movie is a medium level investment, because it really doesn't need much investment to make such movies.
After 90's chick movies became dark horses at the box office. The production budget is not high, and there is no need to cast big stars. As long as the plot is interesting enough, it can become a blockbuster. The most famous chick movies are "Pretty Woman", "When Harry met Stally" and so on.
MGM's goal is not that big. They just want to make money, and don't hope for a classic.
Amy invited Richard for the breakfast but he had already done it. Amy finished her breakfast in just 10 minutes.
After that she went to the studio for audition in Richard's car.
"There is an information about the film crew in the folder. You can take a look at it." He handed a folder to Amy. She reached out and took the stack of papers from him.
The producer's information,the screenwriter's information, the director's information, all of the material made her feel very cold in her heart but also a little happy.
She originally thought that she was the only newcomer for the audition but the director, producer, screen writer and majority of them are also newbies.
Director Robert Luketic is a newcomer and has just graduated from Victoria school of Arts - film and televisions. "Legally blonde" is his debut work and has only made an award winning short film "Tits".
Producer Mark Pratt is also a newconer, and the other producer, Ric Kidney has a slightly rich resume. He has made some other movies.
Screenwriters Karen MCCullouh and Kristen Smith have written the script of another movie "The ten things I hate about you" and are old partners. if it wasn't for Amy's memory about the movie otherwise she wouldn't dare to try such a new film crew and would look for work in the other productions.
She believe that "Lagally Blonde" will become a passport for director, producer, screenwriter and actors to enter the industry. Amy remembered the names on the page so that she would not call them by a wrong name when she meets them later, otherwise it will be very embarrassing.
" I think we should look for an assistant for you as your workload is going to increase from now in the future." Richard said.
Amy also thinks that she needs a assistant for herself now.
" Do you have any recommendations or someone you know who can be trustworthy."
" Well, I will look for it and if there is someone who meets the requirements, then I will tell you about it."
" It's okay then." said Amy.
