Birthday Celebration

Amy returned home and enjoyed her few days vacations. Now she was free and Richard was looking for new works for her.

On 3rd september's evening, a small party was arranged at Amy's new house on Richard's demand. It was for dual purposes of her buying a new house and her eighteenth birthday.

She will also have her eighteenth birthday in New York at the main house, but it will be a few months later. Amy tried to avoid it but this time, it was a strict order from her grandfather James and she didn't want to make him sad. Although Amy doesn't have much interaction with her uncles and their family and hasn't used any sort of their help till now, it still can't change the fact that she is the niece of Collins Corporations Owner and soon to be its shareholder after her parents. No matter how much she delay, she will have to debut in the East Coast's circle.

The guests have started coming. This time, only Amy's friends and co-workers were invited. There was no person here at present whom she didn't know. Amy didn't want to make her birthday a connection making event, that's why, most of the people here were newcomers or not much famous stars.

Amy was talking with Rachel and Henry on a corner. Since the beginning in Hollywood, Amy has formed a good friendship with only two people of her age, Rachel and Henry. Although she has also made other good friends, but they are much older than Amy. With Rachel and Henry, the three have a lot of common topics to talk about, although most of time only Amy and Rachel are speaking, while poor Henry listens to them like a good boy.

"Amy, your house looks amazing. I bet you get lost when moving from one place to another." Rachel looked around the house and said in amazement.

Amy laughed out a little loudly, "No, I don't get lost. Don't worry about it." she likes the frankness of Rachel very much. Rachel speaks what she has in her mind without any scurpules in her words. Although it is not an appreciated quality in Hollywood, but outside the circle, its a great habit.

"What can you expect more from a dummy." Henry mocked Rachel on her previous words. He doesn't talk much, but when he speaks, it is no less than poison. Amy was also very surprised when he did this first time to Rachel, after all, he has always been a shy boy in front of Amy.

"You.." Rachel was angry at Henry mocking her, but then thought of something and calmed down. "At least better than some people who only have a good appearance."

Henry was merciless and again mocked, "At least I have a good appearance, not like some people who don't have both."

Another critical strike. This time Rachel was totally angry and her whole face was red. Amy saw Nolan entering the banquet, she said: "You guys play. I will meet the guests." saying this, Amy slipped away.

Nolan who appeared at the party was greeted by Amy, "How are you Chris. Its good to see you again."

"I am fine. What about you." Nolan also gave back a light hug.

"I am also okay."

"Congratulations on your new house, movie and birthday."

They talked about a lot of things. Its been four months since they last met.

"What are you doing recently." asked Amy.

"Preparing to shoot the new movie. What about you."

"I am free for now. I recently finished filming and Richard is looking for new projects. Although they are quite a lot of scripts after the release of "Legally blonde", but I don't kind of like them. They all are now sweet rom-coms or coming-of-age movies."

"Then what about being a cop/police officer." said Nolan.

"What do you mean." asked Amy.

"How about in my new movie. Its a good role and is with great actors. It will also be different from your present ones." suggested Nolan.

Amy thought for a while and looked at Chris Nolan: "Do you think it will suit me."

Nolan was surprised by direct question, but as they are friends, he replied: "I think it will be good for you. You need to start working with big names. It can be a good start."

Amy nooded, "Then you can send me the script for audition."

"There is no audition. I have talked with Warner Bros previously. Most of the casting rights belong to me. And I know you can play that role."

"Really, do you believe that I can do it."

"Of course, I believe you. Didn't you get ready to audition without even reading the script." Nolan replied sincerely.

Seeing Nolan's sincere and clear eyes, Amy was a little guilty. She agreed to Nolan immediately because she knew about the movie the moment Nolan talked about the role of female cop. It must be the thriller masterpiece "Insomnia" staring Al Pacino and Robert Williams. It was a classic move in her previous life. She got ready as she knew it would be success, but Nolan didn't know anything and belived in her because of friendship.

Amy was quiet for a while and then spoke: "Nolan, you are a very good person and a great friend." at least far better than her.

The guests left by time of 1 am. Only Richard and Mary were left, while servants started cleaning the place.

"Thank God, the party went by without any mistakes." Richard laid weakly on the sofa. The whole arrangements were made by him and Mary.

"What about the paparazzis outside the house." asked Amy.

Mary answered: "I have made the arrangements for them too. They will be gone soon." From arrangements, what meant was refreshments and parcels. Although reporters and paparazzi's are very annoying, but you have to mantain good relations with them. A single one may not effect anyting, but the whole group combined can destroy the career of any actor. So even if they were not allowed in the birthday, sufficient arrangements for them were still made.
