Chapter 16

"What!" Tim exclaimed and the sound of electricity crackling came in their direction, They teleported away before the attack could hit them.

"Trying to kill us faster, are you?" Luke said in annoyance when they appeared in another tree.

At their campsite, a beautiful woman appears. She had purple hair with green eyes, a pair of horns popping out of both sides of her head with a slim tail swaying from back to forth.

She wore a sleeveless leotard with armored gloves on both her arms, the one on the left longer than the one on the right, and there was a bracelet on her right arm, there were purple gems on her bracelet. She wore a pair of thigh-high boots covering up where desperately needed to be covered up.

Tim whistled slightly, the woman heard and a shot of electricity was aimed in their direction and he earned a well-deserved glare from Luke. "If you want to die so badly tell me," he whispered angrily.

"Come out and die by my hands, you coward!" the woman shouted.

Luke signals Tim not to move or say a word. "I'd like to not die in the hands of someone else," he said appearing where the backpack was and disappearing with them. He appears again. "You see I have a goal to kill myself and you guys don't know how to just take a hint."

He doesn't plan on attacking her, he would probably be electrocuted to death. Electricity came his way again and he dodged it. "Are you playing with me right now?" the woman said angrily.

"No," Luke said then appeared several feet away from her so she could see him. "I could play you if you want, just don't come after me for psychological damage fees."

She tried to hit him with another volt of electricity but he teleported away, another tree burned down, luckily it wasn't the one Tim was in. Luke appears behind her holding the roasted fish Tim was making. "Wow, wow, wow," he said. "That is not going to be not painful."

The woman had had enough. "Why?" she said calming down, then electricity began to spark up around her. "Why is it that he never chooses me after proving myself over and over again, why must it be a human?" He saw electricity sparking around the woman.

He heard whip cracking and the next thing he knew, he was injured.

His mind became dull. "This is my cue to leave," he said, then was about to use his teleportation device only to get smacked with a whip. It hurts a lot more than he's used to. 'Of course, it would hurt, it has electricity infused into it.'

The electricity was getting stronger the more she whipped her whip. "Oh no," he said ducking and hearing trees crashing behind him.

"Wait hold on," he says as he desperately dodges the whip. 'How am I dodging this fast?' he thought in amazement. The woman doesn't hold on and continues going faster.

Tim who was on the tree wanted to help but he'd seen what happened to those trees and he decided it was safe. 'How good it is not to be blessed by a god,' he thought sitting quietly contented with his role.

Luke genuinely couldn't keep up with her and every time he takes a hit from the whip it burns like fire. The woman is obviously a demon or some sort of creature that controls electricity. 'I have taken a hundred hits, I am tired,' he thought stopping completely. He was bleeding out, from his eyes and ears. "It seems like I'm going to die here," he said completely accepting his faith.

His body began to glow and a weapon appeared in his hands and all of his injuries healed miraculously. "Oh my goodness, are you kidding me?" he exclaimed. 'I could be on a peaceful ride to hell in ten minutes and you decided to heal me?' he thought. 'And sword now of all times, what was the use of robbing others of their weapons then?' He dropped the sword and sat down folding his arms and pouting.

The whip crackled again making him annoyed. He grabs the whip and pulls it away from the demon's hand ignoring the thousands of volts coursing through his veins and killing him.

He healed almost immediately too. "Oh my God, why can I just do this now?" he said in disbelief, he then huffed, well this can't be fair.

The woman fell to her knees and then began crying. He looks at her blankly. 'Why is she crying now?' he thought.

"I am a loyal demoness so why would he choose a random human to be his angel?" she said with great sadness.

Luke now felt incredibly awkward. "You want to please the Demon King right?" he asked.

"Isn't that obvious?" the woman says haughtily as she wipes her tears.

Luke wanted to say something mean to her. Tim who was watching the events happening could tell he was about to say something mean, he had this bored look on his face, and it would soon be forged into a mocking sneer or smile.

'Please don't say something stupid,' Tim thought hopefully as he watched.

Luke managed to stop himself from insulting a vulnerable woman. A beautiful vulnerable woman who could probably kill him if she wanted. "Have you tried doing what he wants?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"You killed so many of the people he's chosen, am I right?" he asked.

The woman nodded. He looks at her blankly. "Then you are a nuisance in his eyes, foiling his plans, aren't you a demon, you should know what he desires."

"What?" the woman exclaimed angrily.

"If I had someone like you in my company blocking my path to success every time, I would fire you and throw you in prison, you incompetent being," Luke continued.

Electrical current surges around her. "How do you expect him to choose you as his angel when you are nothing but a nuisance? Plan spoiler, idiotic minion, degenerate demon."

He watched as her dignity crumbled down. "If you want to prove your worth to him, join his quest for me to free the Goddess of Night from her unjust imprisonment, and maybe then you will prove your worth and be chosen."

"Are you sure?"

"I don't know the mind of a god, but if you want to get his approval and become his angel, join us."

"Okay," the woman said.

It seems he was able to convince a demon to be their travel companion. 'Hurray...'
