He yet again woke up laying in the sand, although this time with half of his face straight on it. It did take a few seconds for Velios to remember what had happened before he passed out but the more he seemed to remember, the more confused he seemed to be. Once he had fully remembered what had happened, he took a look around him to find even more monsters dead everywhere. Around him were at least twenty more monsters than there were before he fell unconscious. The voice that he heard sounded awfully familiar and yet it was a voice that he did not know who it belonged to. It'll come eventually, I have other important things to attend to. Even though he tried his best to ignore it, the familiar voice was still lingering in the back of his mind as if it was something he once tried to forget but couldn't. He got flashes of memories that he wanted to forget yet remember. Memories that he did not want to think about constantly remerged and clouded his mind, removing his focus from training. The memories of a time where he did everything he could to be strong but was still too weak to change anything.
Trying to calm himself, he looked around the skills that he had to try and find anything. It did not take very long, yet another thing that he did not get to experiment with was one of the skills that had branched of magic. Unique skill 'necromancing' with the power to control the dead as if they were alive. There was something that Velios still had doubts about regarding the ability, since it's not awfully clear. The brief summary of the description read: 'Necromancing is the unique power of controlling the dead. To use a corpse and control it, it must first be consumed.' A power to control an army of the dead that you yourself have killed without a fear of losing someone precious. There was however a part which confused Velios was the "consume" part as it could mean multiple things at the same time. It could mean it's literal meaning to eat, drink or ingest it. It could instead have its meaning in something not comparable to real world logic but instead strictly through magic or other game mechanics. Either way, the only way Velios knew was through trial and error but there was still something he had to prioritize.
Velios had realized two major flaws in his usage of magic. He most likely did not possess an amount large enough for actually controlling something like fire and he did not possess enough knowledge to effectively use it. The main problem was that his control over mana alone was very little as it still was hard for him to effectively circulate it through the entire body which was only the first and smallest steps on the many he would have to take. He would have to train vigorously for hours upon end and only in the end he would be able to eat cooked meat with fire he produced through magic. The learning process was equally or even harder than the actual training part as it was something he was not as used to, to figure something out on your own from scratch without a single clue would certainly not be an easy task even for Velios but he himself knew how much importance it held to learn and master different fields of magic. He constantly thought about all of the possibilities to the minutest of details on how he would get to learn and use them even though everything was still in theory. To actually make practical use of these theories, he would have to train many times harder and longer. Currently, he did as much as he was capable of.
Through this training, he had many ways to experiment with it while fighting the common wildlife. What felt like multiple hours had yet again passed and Velios was still going, sweating extremely much while doing so. It was something that he did all the time but still fully did not get used to. In the hours that passed, not only did he increase his mana, but also many other skills like 'Heart Piercer' and 'Spatial awareness' which his goals were to be able to use them constantly non-stop. His strength, speed and endurance were also consistently growing and becoming better in every aspect. There were a few problems that he however would not be able to solve easily. He has not drinked water for the past two days and there seems to be no way to get any in the desert he was located in. He had no idea where he was or where the nearest civilization was because of the enormous desert he was in and he had eyesight many times better than the normal person, yet nothing had changed. The final of his problems was the massive monster not more than sixty meters away from him, staring right at him.
Velios instinctively knew that it was different than the rest of the monsters. It reminded him of the feelings he got when he saw the giant bear for the very first time. The monster that stood before him was a huge, pure black scorpion. It claws were facing Velios' direction and they were massive but the thing that was truly extraordinary was its stinger. The sharp bit on the stinger looked sharper than most blades and could possibly sever Velios' body if he was hit head on without any defense. It stood there menacingly, staring at its prey, already thinking of how good Velios was going to taste. The giant scorpion started slowly moving towards Velios while picking up its pace and with immense speed it was already within its striking range. A swift swing with its left arm aimed at the side of Velios' body. But, Velios just stood there, covering his head with most of his right arm and reaching over to the right side of his body with his left arm as best he could. The giant claw which was bigger than Velios himself, powerful enough to split giant rocks and boulders in two, landed directly on the side of his body creating a sound that could be heard from multiple miles away and a shockwave that blew all of the nearby dunes away, making the ground completely flat.
Velios didn't know how far away he had flown from the attack but it was a sure fact that he lost his footing. The right arm, which received most of the impact was hanging down motionless. It was completely broken. He was holding onto it but his eyes had a look you wouldn't expect from somebody who just had his arm broken. He was smiling uncontrollably, gritting and showing his teeth while doing so with wide open eyes. "Is that really everything you have to offer?!" Velios shouted. I could have 100% dodged that attack if I wanted to but of course I decided to test its strength. I admit, it is much stronger than it looks. The good luck has finally arrived! How long was it since I felt this way! Oh this feels so good! Velios started manically laughing. It started as small giggle and now he was laughing with his left arm in the air to his side, looking up into the sky for no apparent reason. The way he was feeling couldn't simply be described with words. It was a combination of feelings caused by the specific situation he was in. He hadn't eaten or drank anything for at least 1-2 days and with all the training he did it combined into feelings similar to excitement but that was not the reason for his sudden change of behavior. The reason for it all, was that Velios had entered a stage of Adrenaline, pumping blood at rapid speeds throughout the body, heightening his strength, speed, endurance, senses, skills and mana to 150% of their maximum potential.
