Velios was swiftly dodging every single one of the scorpions' attacks and countered with an attack of his own every single time. Basically none of them had any effect on it. The giant scorpion had a hard yet rough shell around basically its whole body that had only got a few scratches from Velios' hard attacks. The attacks Velios really had to be wary of were its stinger attack. It was even faster than the claws and Velios definitely had trouble trying to dodge it. Yet again, the giant scorpion swung its left arm but Velios dodged and answered with a strike with the purpose to strike it at one of its weaker spots, hoping to get rid of its major attack power. Velios concentrated all of his focus on strengthening his arms and hands through the skill 'Heart Piercer'. As soon as he got a good grip on the sand you could see his arms getting instantly pumped up with his veins and muscles sticking out like crazy. With all the force he could bring out, he unconsciously added a layer of mana on the outside of his hands as he hit the scorpion as hard as he could with twenty consecutive strikes within two tenths of a second.
The punches sounded like multiple gunshots after they had been hit. Even with all of that effort, power and new strength that he had unlocked, it did not successfully sever the giant claw, but only creating a crack not nearly enough to cause severe damage. Yet again the scorpion attacked without a second's waist. Velios knew that it was going to be a hard battle and definitely a very long one, probably his longest yet. Will my endurance hold on? Can I keep up this same level throughout the rest of the battle? No, I have no choice, I have to do this. I have to surpass my limits! Out of nowhere, what Velios thought was his max, the fullest of his strengths was not nearly close to what he would achieve during the fight. Out of nowhere, he picked up his pace and the scorpion could barely keep up. The adrenaline had taken full effect and Velios got a feeling of satisfaction. He felt like he could do anything at that moment. His body was fully shrouded in the effects of his 'Heart Piercer' skill and he didn't feel a single bit of pain or exhaustion. The attacks became faster, harder, stronger and the scorpion with all its might could no longer touch him. At some point, Velios' whole body was covered in a layer of mana making it tougher, sharper, more durable and many times stronger.
Almost every single attack now had an effect on the scorpion's tough and durable body. Crack after crack was formed and the mana shifted spots making different parts of Velios' body stronger. With this difference in strength, their fight that didn't even have a clear winner would now end within ten minutes and with Velios the winner. It was almost as if the powerful strikes imbued with mana could shatter the inside of the scorpion itself by only touching the outside. The powerful monster screamed out in pain as it launched another furious bunch of attacks which were no problem. A swift strike from the stinger, faster than the black scorpion had ever done before. Aimed directly at Velios' head, he had barely no time to dodge it. In the end, Velios minimized the damage as much as he could while taking the hit. The stinger of the giant scorpion had pierced the side of Velios body even with all of his mana and added durability like it was nothing. Velios did not even take time to rest because as soon as he had landed he was right off with another attack aimed directly at the stinger of the scorpion. "Do you know how much I've hated that stinger of yours?"
A powerful right kick aimed at the base of the stinger, without any regard for defense, Velios focused with all of his mana and energy towards that area to deal the most damage possible. With an incredibly strong hit landed directly on the stinger, it snapped immediately. A powerful mana hit that most likely could have killed it right there if aimed at the main body was instead only meant to break the stinger of. Strings of mana were seen flowing through the air after the hit as the scorpion was still hurting. Velios just stood firmly in the sand with his veins popping out and a white colored mana surrounding him. The giant black colored scorpion, who was so proud of its own strength and ability, mocked the human thinking that it was nothing more than a good meal for it. Now, the tables had completely flipped. The scorpion with its animal instincts, feared for its life staring at a creature stronger than itself. The scorpion, even with its intelligent mind, knew that it was no use running but to instead fight for the little remaining time it had left. Velios had been fighting with a broken arm and three broken ribs this entire time.
Velios' perception of time had been ruined from the climate he was situated in. The fight might have lasted for multiple hours or no more than fifteen minutes. It did no longer matter for Velios as he had no use to keep track of time any longer. The fight had ended with a single powerful mana concentrated strike, landed directly on the center on top of the scorpions hard shell, shattering it and the rest of its body with it. Pieces of it flew everywhere and its purple blood flew everywhere, including everywhere on Velios' body. Covered in its blood, Velios just stood there watching as the scorpion was no longer alive. As his mana retreated back into his body and as the rest of his body relaxed, he raised his arms into the air and let out a winning shout. "Yeah!" was the single word he let out before falling down to the ground on his back. A sigh of relief was let out after finally coming to terms with the fact that the battle was finally over. "Man, I'm hungry! I'll get some bites out of the scorpion and then I will go train more. Oh boy, that sure was the best!" As he laid there, he stretched his arms out and just stared up at the sky with a smile on his face.
After he was finished eating, he was shocked to find that his manaheart had become a different color. Eh? What's this? I know that it was purely white before, so why is it this kind of light blue right now? Is it supposed to change color? Velios tried manipulating his mana, applying it to his fist and thankfully, nothing felt weird or wrong. But Velios forgot something. Velios forgot that he still had less than decent control before the fight and it did take him a while to realize how easy it had become. A smile broke out on his face in excitement at how much he immediately wanted to do. Even though he was full, he still wanted to try and create a fire for enough time to cook the meat. He sat himself up in a meditating like state to get to full concentration. Creating the flame was the easy part, but actually making it useful by making it bigger or hotter was what actually was hard. Velios still had a very limited amount of mana and he wanted to only use it on the necessary thing. He was not sure what to specifically use magic for. Most likely, instead of focusing on a single one, the best for most efficiency would be to use magic as fuel, to add oxygen and to add heat. Out of all the people in the game, Velios has to be one of the least knowledgeable surrounding the fantasy theme world they were in but he was also a natural genius in almost everything he dedicated his time to. It did not take long before he actually tried to cook the meat with his magic and although it took him a while. The fire which he was capable of cooking an entire chunk of meat had a similar height to a football and had temperatures reaching close to one thousand degrees. He was now capable of using one of the most basic usages of actual magic, fire magic.
