As Velios had entered the main street, the dire situation that he thought the city was in was nothing compared to what it actually was. It was lively and at the same time completely quiet. All of the children were in dirty, beat up clothes with shackles on their arms and feet. Many of them had to carry heavy loads of boxes containing different foods, materials and other valuable merchandise. The majority of the children however, were locked behind cages and marked as merchandise, or in other words, as slaves. Not a single person walking through the streets even talked to the children except those who wanted to personally buy one. The ground was a compact mixture of normal sand and sandstone and as every other adventurer and salesman walked with their expensive clothes and equipment, the children instead walked barefoot with the only clothes they had cost less than a single meal. Many of the children also had the exact same looks in their eyes, eyes devoid of emotions, no happiness, no hope, no nothing. Velios just stood there and watched, letting his emotions continue to bubble up inside their body as he continuously watched the children trip because of the heavy weight, get beat up without a complaint only to continue the cycle. Velios didn't know how long he could contain his feelings. The aura surrounding Velios became bigger and bigger but also a much darker color.
"Slaves! Slaves! Capable slaves for half the price today!" It only continued. "Get back to work you brat! If I see you slacking off I'll beat you twice as hard, you got that?" The corruption, even in a life and death game where everybody had to help each other in order to survive and grow strong, was something that would never cease to exist, no matter what type of situations humans were in. Velios looked over at a sound he hadn't heard before, the sound of a wagon being rolled forwards on two wooden wheels and to nobody's surprise, the carriage was that of even more slaves being transported into the city. Velios stared right at the person riding the carriage that had already started advertising his merchandise. As the salesman looked over at Velios, even more feelings and thoughts violently rushed into his head. "Hey, you! Young man standing beside that alley. Would you, good sir, be interested in purchasing one of my fine merchandise? They just got here from the neighboring city and they're still virgins. What do you say? Do you want to purchase a sex slave?" The salesman gathered more attention as his carriage slowly moved towards the center of the city. Hearing the final words from the salesman, talking so casually about young children who didn't look over the age of 11, Velios couldn't hold it in anymore as he lost all control over his body. His face became stiff and expressionless yet filled to the brim with anger. As the salesman turned his head around to face Velios with yet another offer, he was decapitated without warning.
Mana kept on overflowing and his magic was completely out of control. His 'Heart Piercer' skill was fully activated and heads, body parts and people were killed mercilessly. Multiple of the slave traders present tried to run away but Velios was completely out of control, burning them up while at the same time throwing their bodies through multiple buildings, creating complete chaos in the area. Velios had slit the throat of another one of them while punching one of them in the head so hard that it just exploded. He kicked another in the head so hard that the head just left the body and flew into some buildings creating even more destruction. Velios burnt open a hole in one of their bodies letting them bleed to death. Velios truly didn't care how brutally he killed them as he treated them the exact same way he would a monster. The rest of the adventurers, terrified from what they were seeing began fearing for their life also began running away. However, the children and the slaves had noticed something immediately that no one else could ever get right. The person before all of them specifically targeted only the slave traders and other salesmen involved in any way. Eventually, guards and other adventurers brave enough to try and stop the madman, did so to no avail. Thanks to Velios, the worst he did to those were to leave them unconscious with a broken bone or two.
This horrific slaughter continued as the entire street now was covered in the blood and different body parts of the slave traders. Velios soul, the deepest and truest part of him, wanted to kill every single last one of the slave traders as they were no different to the monsters he had fought in the past with no regard for human lifes and zero empathy towards them. Velios wasn't capable of fully thinking as an individual, his body acted on its own with no way to truly stop it from the outside. Velios was prepared to search around the whole city until every last "monster" in the city was fully gone. Screams of terror could be heard all across the city as normal civilians bore witness to total chaos, destruction and terror. Almost the whole city was engulfed in a big flame, burning away anything that wasn't the stone that was being destroyed anyways.
Heads flew everywhere and the ground was completely covered in the mixed blood of the evil and innocent. What liveliness and energy that previously was did not remain as the massacre continued. Velios couldn't even feel himself at what point. He couldn't fully wrap his head around what was happening or what had suddenly got into him, but at that moment in time, nothing mattered more than for all of the evil in the city to be perged. There was nothing pretty about it. It was pure violence, unbridled, gruesome and most of all, blood.
Random bits and pieces of houses and other buildings were scattered around and the once big, proud and sturdy city was now going to be left as ruins. Buildings could be heard crushing into the ground in the background as Velios continued slaughtering every single person that slightly looked like they could be a slave trader. The event followed for what felt like hours with night striking Velios for the first time in a long while. The starry night filled sky was looming over the city, almost watching down on it. The slaves and other children now had the perfect chance to escape and to do so they had to get everyone out to the front gate and get away from the city as fast as possible.
Coincidentally, in another part of the world, a long long distance away, news had seemed to travel extraordinarily fast. It was only six hours since Velios started the slaughter and the newspaper had become extremely popular because of it. "Hey, Boss! Have you heard the news?" The door was busted open. Jack, who was sitting down on the couch as usual, holding up the newspaper and reading the headline had gone completely mute for a second. "I know that the news are being distributed as a system in the game for players to know about major events and achievements around the world, but, don't you think they have taken the joke a little bit too far this time?" Cherryl sat down besides Jack to look at the news one more time to confirm that what she really read was true. Both of them truly had no words to express what they were seeing. The exact same reaction was received from cities around the world from people reading the over the top news that had been given. The news had insanely high credibility but the amount of people who actually thought it was 100% real at first were less than the amount of handstand pushups Velios had done in a row. The news in recent times were already extremely over the top with one of the most recent ones being that a lone player had successfully beat a black scorpion and survived. The black scorpion was already extremely rare to come across and people were grateful for that as it had a record to kill any player it saw and the number of survivors, the people standing kilometers away were so few that they could be counted on a single hand. Now, the headline of the news was something that the players were not ready for.
The headline wrote: "Murderer of hundreds, capturer of thousands." The rest of the article wrote about everything that happened in the actual incidents stating that "A single player successfully snuck into a city, destroyed a fourth of the entire city, reported to have at least killed and brutally murdered over 500 salesmen and captured thousands of children alive successfully escaping the scene." Which wasn't necessarily false but not the whole truth either. Just the thought of how strong a player would be to accomplish something like that was too much to even fathom which was the biggest reason it seemed unbelievable. The news quickly became known to the entire world as it was the only thing that they could talk about. Theories were being made and the debate if the news even were real was still ongoing. One of the pictures in the news clearly described the after effects of such a battle as it was a picture of the main road, completely abandoned with dead bodies lying everywhere. The picture could be mistaken as someone dropping a bucket of red paint over the photo due to all of the blood visible. This incident would be the first of many player caused incidents that would occur as it was only the beginning.
