"Ughh... my head hurts, yet again. Well, nothing I can do about it really." She was still laying in bed, lightly holding her head and leaning it onto her hand for support. "Still, what's with all the commosion outside. This is quite far underground compared to even the underground city and I can still hear the sounds. Is some fight going on?" She kept on talking to herself, slowing down her movements further as realization slowly began to settle. She didn't know if she was able to feel her arm or not. She slowly removed the blanket which was still covering it. She remained in complete silence, taking deep breaths, trying her best to remain composure. It should have grown back by now? Right? ...If that kid really did use magic, then it might still be gone... well, not like that would set me back, it'll grow back eventually? Right? She slowly and fully removed the blanket, revealing that her arm was indeed still intact, having healed back during her time of rest.
She didn't want to reveal it, but she was somewhat relieved from it having grown back. She may be strong, but due to her lack of taking damage due to her ways of fighting mostly being optimized for assassination, the amount of times which she have had to go toe-to-toe with someone is small and therefore, both of her healing and durability were severely lacking compared to other strong individuals. As her worries subsided, her curiosity for what was going on slowly grew. It wasn't often the fighting in the underground city actually was severe and the few times it was, you could expect to see hundreds of dead people caught up in it. She slowly got out of bed, looking around her room as if to remind herself that everything was normal, trying to forget the overwhelming event that had happened recently.
"Hannes... Report on the status of the underground city, now." She had got fully dressed before walking out of her room, having ended up walking throughout the entirety of their base with a sole goal in mind to figure out what was going on before she decided if she wanted to go there herself. In her search of someone, she had found Hannes, frantically running along the corridor, obviously in a rush but for an unknown reason unbeknownst to her. "A-ah! Hu- I mean boss! It's horrible! We don't know what's happening but there's corpses everywhere! And- and they're not human either! Someone is specifically targeting the demons!" Hannes was panting heavily, leaning his body forwards with his hands rested on his knees, his eyes darting all around the floor having tried to lift his head but couldn't out of pure mental and physical overload.
She tried to hide her surprisement. It was common knowledge that the ones who ruled the underground city were the demons and that anybody who chose to oppose would be executed at best. "Are you saying that there' s actually someone who is fighting the demons as we speak?" She hadn't heard of anyone stupid enough to try and for good reason. Demons are many times stronger than even some of the strongest humans and they show no empathy for humans that don't respect them. If someone else was to say the same thing, she would laugh, but she could tell he was telling the truth. He knew what Hannes was like as a person, she knew what everybody was like. "B-boss! Should we do anything? ...I don't even know what's happening!" The options were few but they wouldo all prove to be of signifiance. To keep hiding, or fight the demons. Would they trust their lives to a stupid stranger they've never met or would they do nothing and wait for it to be all over?
"We'll observe the situation for ourselves. Bring only our elites, leave the rest down here... I'll be going ahead." Huan then suddenly disappeared without saying anything further, leaving Hannes to take care of everything for himself. Hannes admired not only her bravery, but her ability to quickly think and act like a leader, although everyone knew that she wasn't the kind of person that liked working with others which is true. But on the other hand, the reason why she always gave those quick decisions was not because she was doing her responsible job as a leader, but because she couldn't be bothered being stuck in a conversation for long periods of time with anyone. Another fact is that she makes reasons for doing stuff was also much more childish but she would always lie and try to come up with an excuse to use instead make it sound more plausible.
"...Why am I even doing this? I already said I would stop risking my life unnecessarily. I thought I learned my lesson after I did it and lost an arm... I'm sorry, Ài..." She was walking and walking, each step taking her closer to the source of the sounds. She wasn't sure of what she was hearing. She couldn't distinguish if it was the sounds of crumbling buildings, the impact of the attacks, the screams, the blood splattering or something else. It was a cacophony of sounds and all of them became louder as she got closer and closer to the surface of the underground city. Her heart started beating in anticipation, but also an emotion that she had tried to get rid of for a very long time. Memories from months ago still plagued her mind. Memories of having lost someone close to her and the fear of losing the only person who still had any memories of Ài, Huan herself.
As soon as she got to the underground city, she could see what kind of destruction had been caused to make such sounds. If she was mistaken, she would have thought it was some terrorist attack or something similar due to all the collateral damage to buildings. Rubble of buildings suddenly got launched towards her and with a sliver of a hair, she barely managed to dodge it. It came out of nowhere, almost hitting her. At worst, it could have caused internal damages or broken bones but the attack was unexpected nonetheless. "Damn you filthy humans!" A demonic voice was screaming, the voice sounding like it had a layer of reverb onto it while still being raspy. But, before Huan could properly get a look on what or who it was that had tried to attack her, all she could see was that the body of the demon suddenly exploding, causing every organ to get shattered and all of the blood to spew out everywhere, with every square inch of ground remotely close to it now covered in blood. The demon died in an instant and she had no idea how.
The following second, a huge crater was left behind in the ground but yet again, she had no idea what had happened. The ground had suddenly crumbled, leaving a huge hole with multiple nearby buildings collapsing because of the total impact. Little did Huan know, as she stood there in utter confusion, shock and horror that all which truly happened was nothing more than Velios having jumped, his jump having produced enough force that the ground beneath him wasn't durable enough. She stood there unmoving, still in complete shock. She couldn't see who or what it was but whatever it was, it was killing demons. Blood splattered everywhere, more buildings were constantly being destroyed and places for massive businesses were being demolished. Not even the demons had time to react before it was their turn to die.
Lia didn't know how to react at first. She didn't know if she was going to retreat or if she wanted to do something to help, but she felt hopeless somehow. The same kind of feeling she got months ago when she was many times weaker, that same feeling was now being resurfaced. Her head slowly lowered itself aautomatically, her vision panning onto the blood splattered everywhere, with only bits of pieces of the demon that was left. She had seen so much in her life, too much almost, and somehow she felt like she wanted to puke. Never in all of the months that had passed of constant death around her, she had never seen a death so brutal to the point where nothing of the actual body remained, only bits and pieces with blood remaining.
