Four Legged Spider

"Damnit! You sly tricky system!" Hori began shouting. He didn't hold back in any way regarding his feelings when the system retracted the mask. "You stupid waste of whatever you were made from! I wonder why that stupid sexy alarm lady sent you to me. You were probably part of the punishment anyways!"

While he was shouting profanities at the system, he didn't notice that three figures had appeared behind him. They watched as he screamed at the system.

The only problem was that they had no idea that Hori was connected to a system, seeing as the system wasn't entirely visible to anyone, hence they didn't see Hori as someone screaming at another person. They saw him as…

"Is that really how a lunatic behaves?" One of the figures asked. It was a girl. The girl looked about fifteen years of age. She had brown hair that spanned all the way to the back of her neck. Her fair toned skin obvious due to her choice of clothes.

She wore a red leather crop top with black tight fitted leather pants. There were pockets in the leather trousers which housed daggers. A sword was strapped to her back.

"I don't know Imani". Another girl whispered. This girl had pale white skin. Black hair that flowed all the way to her lower back covered her hair. On her lips was a taunting smile as she stared at Hori's 'display of lunacy'.

"Stop it Zola, let's not judge the book by the cover". A male figure stood behind the girls. He had a very muscular build. His biceps was visible through the leather sleeveless top that he wore. There was a sword strapped to the right side of his waist.

He had black hair of medium hair, some stray strands falling over his forehead. He looked to be about eighteen years old, older than the two females that he accompanied.

"Hey there!" Columbus called out to Hori.

It was only after Hori heard Columbus' voice that he realized that there were people staring at him. He remembered his previous display and smiled in an awkward manner, an enbarassed blush creeping up his cheeks. Only God knows what they would've thought of him.

This is all that damned system's fault. Making me embarrass myself in front of strangers. More importantly, in front of two hot girls!

"Hey". Hori greeted back, the smile on his face seemed to get wider.

Thank goodness, they don't think I'm insane.

"See? He's not insane". Columbus whispered to the two girls, wary of Hori taking offense after hearing his words.

The two girls however, didn't seem to worry about such.

"I still think that he's insane". Zola said while casting a wary glance towards Hori.

"Me too". The one referred to as Imani agreed with Zola.

Hori's smile faltered when he heard the casual conversation between the two girls. They talked as if he wasn't right in front of them, listening to their every word.

"I assure you I'm not insane". Hori chuckled nervously. "I just lost out on a valuable treasure, that's the reason for my uh… violent outburst".

Columbus turned towards the girls and walked towards Hori. "I was wondering if you would like to travel with us seeing as we're in a very dangerous place". Columbus smiled. "There's strength in numbers".

Columbus looked as if he might've been looking for more points to use an an argument as to why it would be more sensible for them to travel together.

He didn't need to say more actually, Hori nodded as soon as Columbus finished talking. "You're right, there's strength in numbers. I agree to travel with you three".

The only reason why Hori agreed to travel with the trio was that he deduced that since they were coming from the abyss, or likely to head there seeing as they were in the island, then they were probably very strong. He wanted to latch onto them and use them as his bodyguards until he felt he was safe enough to travel on his own.

The fact that he saw them as very strong individuals was probably the only reason that he hadn't used his observation to peek on their levels of strength.

"Alright then, since we've all agreed let's go". Columbus said. Hori followed him over to the two girls.

"Hi, my name is Hori". He introduced himself to the two girls. They didn't seem to be in the mood to chat, they harrumphed and started walking in front of Hori and Columbus.

"The one with brown hair is Imani while the one with black hair is Zola". Columbus whispered to Hori. He did badly to hide the amusement in his eyes when he watched the two girls ignore Hori.

The quartet had barely moved four steps when they heard strange sounds coming from around them. They stopped and glanced at their surroundings warily. They were about to continue with their journey when a giant spider appeared from in front of them.

The spider was the height of a grown man, towering the quartet at a staggering height of seven feet two inches. It was also about seven feet white.

The hairy surfaces of the spider was quite visible. Each strand of hair having a length of over six inches.

The spider was black for the most part. Except for two large circles at the fore front of its head. There were also some white stripes of hair at its legs.

The spider was like the magnified version of a normal spider. There was only one difference. While the average spider had eight legs, this spider had four.
