She cupped his face too, giving in to the passionate kiss. However, it soon dawned on her that he was likely grievously wounded. So, she broke the kiss hastily. As much as she wanted to relish in their firey kiss, his survival took priority.
"We need to get you help," Athena said as she assessed his injuries.
It broke her heart to see the extent of his injuries. It was a miracle he was still alive. She placed her hand gently on his forehead.
"You're burning up," She muttered under her breath as she was about to turn and get some water from the river.
Krayden grabbed her wrist.
"No, stay with me," He whispered. His voice cracked, likely due to a parched throat.
She couldn't bear to leave him either. Not when he needed her help the most. But she knew what she had to do.
"I won't be long. You need this," She reassured him before heading towards the river.
