Falling

Athena laid down on her reclining chair, looking up at the starlit night sky. It was the night before the coronation and wedding. She could barely sleep a wink due to all the excitement. She could barely believe it. Things were finally coming together for her. 

It was a dream come true. 

She closed her eyes, reliving the memories in her mind. Her life from before she arrived felt like it was worlds away. She no longer had the desire to return to where she was once from. 

She thought to herself. 

When she opened her eyes once more, she almost fell out of her chair. She saw a familiar face staring back at her with a smile. 

"Nikolai! You scared the daylights out of me!" She exclaimed while rubbing her chest. 

Nikolai chuckled as he took a seat next to her.

"Nervous for your big day, princess?" He asked as he handed her a cup of hot tea.
