Chapter 39: Fear and Solace

*Rosie Fay-Donovan*

Seeing Seth completely bruised and bloody made me sick to my stomach. Not because I wasn’t used to seeing blood or anything. I guessed I just wasn’t expecting to see him so badly injured right after Archie and I returned from our trip.

It lasted only a few seconds though, until I managed to pull myself together and act. His bandages were clearly done in a hurry. Whoever did it, did a great job at stitching him up, but I guessed a female touch would make it less horrifying.

He was already medicated, so he didn’t seem to be in that much pain, but still, I touched him as gently as possible. I saw Archie leaving the infirmary from my peripheral vision, followed by Tyler and Sami. But I was too focused on my task to ask what else was happening.
