Going through the rest of the event was torturous, to say the least. Especially since Archie was fuming and had to be pulled away by Sami and Aoki so he could get some fresh air.
I continued with the presentation and the auction as if nothing had happened, and apparently, no one seemed to notice the tense confrontation we’d all had outside.
Luckily, all the guests were safe and unharmed, but my stomach fell into a pit and nothing seemed to be able to make me feel better. I was trying my hardest to hide my fear, so I wouldn’t make Archie’s mood even worse, but it was harder than I imagined.
Royce’s words echoed in my head repeatedly and I couldn’t shake it off. It wasn’t just an empty threat, but it didn’t seem like a serious one either. It felt childish and stupid, if you asked me. Sloppy even. To show up in the middle of our event and make a vow of revenge didn’t seem to be his style.
