Chapter 70: Connecting the Dots

I had just arrived home when I heard the door opening behind me. I turned on my heels to see Rosie strolling inside, her arm stained with blood, and being followed by Sienna.

My heart sank to my stomach.

“What the hell happened?” I urged, rushing to her side.

Rosie shook her head, dismissing me, but I didn’t care. “I’m fine. It’s just a scratch.”

“It's not just a scratch. We were attacked and the guy almost stabbed her,” Sienna chimed in, her tone loud and nervous. “The knife grazed her arm, but she didn’t let me see it.”

What the f*ck was she talking about? Attacked? By who?

“F*ck! Are you alright?” I asked Rosie, but I looked at Sienna as well to make sure she didn’t need help.

“I'm fine, she protected me,” Sienna answered. I turned my attention to Rosie, who had dropped onto the couch, leaned her head against it, and closed her eyes.
