It was early morning the next day when we all snuck out of the castle and headed to the military camp by the forest edge. Commander Loft received us and gave us a rundown of what happened. We all went to inspect the bodies of the Lycans to check for any clues that might help us.
“Uncle Marrok was right, this smells like Princess Rae’s blood,” I whispered through gritted teeth.
Lowe seemed to be keenly observing the bodies and then said, “They are not dead.”
We all turned to him and Commander Loft was the first one to speak. “You seem to be mistaken.” He turned to Ulysses. “Grand Prince, please confirm.”
Ulysses nodded and then stood by the bodies as we felt his power push through. A few seconds later he took a step back and whispered, “Lowe is right. These Lycans have been turned rogue.”
“Everyone move out!” Commander Loft yelled as we all walked out of the canvas tents. He slapped the canvas closed and then zipped it up. “We need to move the camp. Now.”
