Two days later, Ulysses was still acting strange. He pretended to be okay but seemed aloof. I had asked Armand to take him to the secluded part of the forest. The place had a sense of peace and when I got there, I felt Ulysses’ emotions were all over the place. I pushed through our mating mind link and felt the grief of his parent’s death.
After a few minutes, I spoke up. “I wasn't sure you would welcome me. I am glad you are now calm, and we can talk. You know the mating bond does not allow us to be apart but once I got here, I realized how much grief you have been in for years. I have no control over the past and neither do you. I can't change the past. But also, I can't lose my mate.”
“I need time” His words were hushed and filled with sadness.
"How long?'' I growled, growing impatient.
