*Alistair*
There were a hundred different feelings running through Blackwood the second his wife arrived home and walked into the study.
He was certain that Rowan would have opened his mouth and it was all going to be over. The moment Daphne's hand went flying, Alistair truly believed that his son was going to let the truth out.
Had it not been for the menacing death-glare that she’d given the guy, Blackwood came horribly close to letting out a boorish laugh. But the man wasn’t going to lie.
Seeing Daphne, as small and compassionately-spoken as she was, lose her cool was probably the sexiest thing he’d ever witnessed. Her lethal expression set his arousal right off. Thankfully, Rowan made his hasty retreat out while Blackwood took to the staircase.
He didn’t care about Rowan’s possible threats or about how his son would very likely be back again. What mattered to him was Daphne’s mental and emotional stability.
