When Duncan had stated that things were going to get annoying, he had been underestimating the situation, extremely so.
The Higher Worlds were in an uproar. Runemasters and Magic Art masters alike were in pure disbelief as they all had their attention on the Cosmic Rune Chart and the Cosmic Magic Art Chart respectively. It didn't take long for the leader of the factions to get word of this and when they did almost all of them had the same or similar kind of reaction.
Well…except a few.
…
On another world similar to Abyss World.
Dark thunder clouds rolled above a castle that looked extremely gothic. It was a large structure built on bricks with ragged and sharp edges. The outer castle was surrounded bylarge walls standing over 7 meters tall. With gargoyle statues placed at the top. Within the castle was the throne room where the elders and council members would meet.
Currently those council members were sweating buckets and sprawled on the dark tiles of the floor. The gravity in the room seemed to increase by the thousand. All 16 of them were feeling the weight of their leader's soul pressure. At this point even if they tried to resist they wouldn't even be able to stand let alone move a finger.
All they could do was solemnly look forward at the figure sitting on the raised throne. This person was sitting quietly deathly soul.
Her pale skin was so white that someone would have thought she had bleached it with the strongest bleaching agent in the cosmos and her eyes, a dazzling pair of crimson red eyes that seemed to be getting brighter and brighter as the seconds passed.
A black dress with red roses at the helm hugged tightly to her body highlighting her prominent features. Her slim waist and wide hips and although her chest wasn't nearly that prosperous and could be considered on the smaller size, they didn't demean her rather they seemed to suite her even more. Her midnight black hair flowed freely just a little bit past her shoulders.
One look at her and every man regardless of race would undeniably agree that she was a beauty whose worth was more than a hundred galaxies. Wars would be waged across all the quadrats in the Higher Worlds if she so much as stated that whoever came out on top would have her.
As a matter of fact, several higher existences in the past had even tried to use force just to have her. However, she was here and they were not and no man in the cosmos would dare think of doing such a thing and for good reason as well.
This woman wasn't just beautiful…no ironically she wasn't known to the majority by her heavenly beauty but rather her terrifying strength.
This woman was known by the majority in the Golden Domain and the Chaos Realm alike.
She was the Blood Witch, Rosaline Yuclove, a terrifying Seventh Star Order and most of all the leader of the Blood Fortress Faction, one of the six major factions as far as Higher existences goes.
Rosaline sat in silence. She was so silent in fact that one would have thought she was angry at all if it not for the rage permeating from her eyes and the thick murderous intent wafting off her body and the soul pressure leaking from her made it all the more clear.
"Not only did that bastard fail to honor the engagement and run away he even has the nerve to settle down on a planet within my quadrat!" the pressure increased twofold threatening to crush everyone in the room to death. Rosaline was seethingwith rage.
How could she not?
Duncan was the very first man in over a thousand years to actually capture her heart and make her fall in love. In fact from the way things had been going between them they would have progressed wonderfully and they would have had little Duncans and Rosalines jumping around and causing all sorts of trouble. But no the guy just had to run off.
It wasn't as though Duncan was seeing another woman, no that was beneath him and even he knew never to cross her lest she have his head on a pike.
No the reason Duncan went off for the past thousand years had something to do with his best friend's death.
Prometheus
Those two had been as thick as thieves before Olympus decided they didn't need him anymore.
Rosaline grit her teeth.
No. The reason she was angry was because Duncan had left her in the dark about what he was doing and what he had found out. Weren't they supposed to be each other's support? Weren't they supposed to be together in sickness and in health?
Then why the hell was he out there doing everything on his own. And now after more than hearing nothing from him for the past 900 years her Grand Mage comes running into her throne room claiming he has important news and that news concerns Duncan!
After 900 years she had finally heard something about him and not only that it seemed he had been living in her quadrat and yet he never even bothered to send a message and to make matters worse he somehow ended up on the top ranking of the Cosmic Magic Art Chart!
He basically just put a target on his back!
Rosaline took a deep breath trying to calm herself. She withdrew her aura until finally the immense pressure that had been in the room was finally gone and the 16 council members could finally breathe.
"Ah…milady…" one of the council members said grimly knowing what would come next after he spoke. "…He's also ranked first on the Cosmic Rune Chart"
BOOM!
"SON OF A BITCH!" her aura exploded once more and the walls of the castle this time around could no longer hold collapsing under her might and the throne she was sitting directly crumbled.
Was Duncan just trying to put a huge target on his back or was he trying to just get to her!
"Argh!" she screamed in frustration. When she finally noticed the amount of damage she was causing she suppressed her aura before letting out a breath.
The council members remained silent after having been thrown back quite the distance away. They dared not to speak. Even though their lady had calmed down only they knew just how far from calm she was.
After what felt like an eternity she finally spoke.
"Moniker" she called out.
"Yes milady" a council member stepped forward. He had been in a dark cloak that by now looked rather dirty and ragged. Clearly it was as roughed up as he was. He had several scratched surrounding his body and even some blood on his temple but the superior regenerative abilities of the vampire race were already starting to heal all those minor injuries
"Use your connections to closely monitor the Olympians" she ordered.
"By your order" Moniker gave a slight bow before his body blinked out of existence.
"As for Duncan let that cowardly husband of mine sweat for a little bit longer" she said before turning away in an attempt to sit on the throne.
She froze she had been planning on sitting back on the throne, mostly out of habit but then she remembered she had destroyed the damn thing in her anger in fact the throne wasn't the only thing she had destroyed.
"Ehem…" she coughed to hide her slight embarrassment. "The throne room needs some repairs"
Black lines appeared on all the council members as they all had one thought they would never dare say out loud.
'This is the 20th time milady!'
…
In one of the higher worlds in particular, a Seventh Stage World, Calum World.
In a particular clearing in the middle of a thick forest a man wearing nothing but a white pants stood surround by soot, ash and burnt trees. The smell of smoke filled the air and the sounds of trees still sizzling could be heard.
The man looked up, his eyes looking like golden orbs with lightning snaking out from the corners of his eyes. His golden hair was tied to his back in an elegant ponytail, his exposed chest and torso were built up of muscles that seemed to have been carved out of stone by the gods themselves.
Anyone who looked at this man would think of him as nothing short of a god himself.
Small remnants of golden lightning still snaked across the surface of his skin. The man took a deep breath before closing his eyes and the area seemed to calm down the oppressive aura that had surrounded the area fading away.
The man opened his eyes once more and the golden electric glow that had been there before now gone, replaced by impossible beautiful golden pupils that seemed to see beyond what the eye could see.
The next moment his head snapped into a certain direction in the east. There 1000 meters away another man stood. He had black hair, green eyes and a chiseled chin making look like a model instead of the Sixth Star Order powerhouse that he was and the black tuxedo that he wore did very little to portray this image.
Even though the distance would extremely large, to the man it was didn't seem any different from seeing someone across the street.
"Hermes" the man said. "Still fancying that ridiculous dress up I see"
"Heh, heh, heh. Well you know me your Highness" the black haired man, Hermes laughed for a moment before stating with a serious expression. "However, Zeus…there's been a development"
The man, Zeus raised an eyebrow
"Its about Duncan Novachrono" Hermes said almost immediately Zeus' expression hardened and his face darkened. Dark thunder clouds seemed to darken the sky in unison with his mood.
"Let's discuss this further on Mount Olympus" Zeus spoke after what felt like an eternity.
With that Hermes gave a slight bow before his shoes lit up and what appeared to be a pair of dove wings appeared on either side of his heel. Hermes raised one foot in the air the wings on his shoes stretching in unison before they flapped downwards creating an updraft that lifted his body 50 meters in the air.
Another step and he seemed to teleport further and further away into the distance leaving Zeus alone on the barren land.
"I will find you Duncan and when I do I'll make you regret the day you took the useless brat's legacy with you"
Zeus the leader of the Olympus Faction was making a move
