What A Time To Be Alive!

The world tossed and turned as if it were paper thin. Sand tornados popped out of thin air as the tornados surrounded him and his body flew what seemed like a million light-years away from home. Then in an instant, the chaos of unexpected twists stops and the world around him turns dark, with nothing in sight. But a gush of fire pulls the young man at supersonic speeds into a world filled with endless sand.

For a fraction of a second, Scion saw everything that has, is and will happen. Every mystery laid itself open, and every desire was presented on a silver platter, yet Scion wasn't occupied by the madness he had just experienced. Other thoughts seemed to plague his mind.

Scion's mind raced with a torrent of questions. *Where the hell am I? Where's Luke? We were just observing the skies and a solar eclip-*

Just as Scion's thoughts were running, light particles were condensing faster and faster, creating a shadow that resembled a giant man right in front of him.

Scion knew instantly that this was bad news.

"I am not fighting that thing, nuh-uh. Wait, what am I saying, there's no time for questions, I've gotta run!" Scion ran as fast as he could, begging that he wouldn't become this giant's next meal. He must've been exhausted, or maybe it was shock, but Scion ran for hours until his whole body went numb.

*Phew, that was close, there's no way it could've caught up with me. I was a top-tier runner back in high school.* Scion had a self-satisfied look, affirming to himself that he could just run from the giant.

Suddenly, a deep, commanding voice emanated from all directions. "So this is my champion? Interesting, he looks a bit scrawny but that speed wasn't bad for a non-powered mortal."

Scion turned around to see that it was the giant from earlier, but it wasn't fully human. It had a gold disk and a snake by its side at all times, but what scared Scion out of his wits was that it had a Falcon head of some sort.

"I take pride in my speed, sir. By the way, are you real or is this a dream?"

The Giant Falcon man with his deep voice sarcastically said "Let's test it out, shall we?"

At that very moment, Scion fainted instantly. Once again, it might've been from exhaustion or the shock of seeing a Giant Falcon man threatening to kill him, or it could be both. Regardless of what it was, did this idiot think he could outspeed a giant?

*Is this it? Will I die in mediocrity? I couldn't even find my purpose or have fun, imagine the look on Luke's face when he found out that I got teleported to some unknown place and died. Oh god, not my Mum, not Lillia! I'm sorry, just give me one chance. I didn't want it to end like this, I'll be the best a man can ever be, so at least give me a cheat skill in some B-tier Isekai, please!*

"Wake up! Without you, I won't have a champion. Now that I've thought about it, why did I bother making this idiot my champion? Maybe I should've picked someone a bit less stupid. I mean seriously, I'm a superpowered giant god, did he think running away would do anything?"

Scion could barely hear the words coming out of the giant's mouth. Deep down, he wanted to show the giant he wasn't useless. But considering the things he just said, it might be better to let him off.

*I'm back, geez Where am I? What's this warm feeling? Am I going to heaven or am I being roasted on a stick as we speak? It doesn't matter, if I'm going to die, I might as well accept it*

Scion opened his eyes and he surprisingly could move and he felt better than ever, like a super-shock restoring all his vitality. Although that was the case, what he felt was completely different to what he was bearing witness to.

"What are you doing? I'm on fire, save me, please! I'll do whatever you want Mr. God, I'll even be your slave, Just let me go!"

Scion was covered in flames and surrounded by a large circle of golden flames. Even though he was clearly on fire, he couldn't feel any pain, only warm and gentle sensations.

The God sighed at this young man's shamelessness and stupidity and in a commanding voice yelled at Scion. "Shut up you stupid mortal, or else I'll just abandon you, even if you're my champion. And by the way, stop calling me that. I am the Divine Sun God, the creator of everything and the first ruler of Egypt! I am Ra, the Sun God!"

Scion's tortured look instantly changed to that of admiration.

"You're the Sun God Ra? Seriously? That's awesome, I can't believe I'm meeting such a divine being like yourself."

Scion decided to suck up to the Sun God and it sure as hell worked. "I'm flattered, I'm not that impressive, I just roam around the vast desert and think about stuff, that's it."

Scion had a few questions in mind but decided to get on Ra's good side before anything bad happened. But there was one question that had to be answered.

"Sun God Sir, why am I still alive even though I'm on fire and why am I surrounded by flames coloured in god?"

Sun God Ra looked as if all of his stress had vanished. "You see young man, the reason why in this predicament is because you're special, you were chosen by me."

Scion had a confused look at first, but it changed to a bitter smile filled with emptiness.

"Me? Special? With all due respect Sun God Sir, I am not special. I've never been special, I've always picked fights, I've always been shameless and I've always been purposeless. I think you might've got the wrong guy because I've accomplished hardly anything in my world. If I am your so-called champion, then I'm afraid you have picked the wrong person."

Sun God Ra smirked just after Scion finished his rant.

"That's precisely why I chose you, the fact that you've pointed out your flaw shows that you know that you can do better and although I had my doubts regarding your past actions, I'm certain that you're my champion."

"Remember Scion, I am only giving you the ability to reach your full potential, you must carve your path and ideals to become who you are meant to be."

Scion had a shocked look on his face as he understood what this meant for him. This was his chance to fill that gap in his life, he could have countless adventures on unmatched levels of proportions.

Scion has countless thoughts twisting and twirling in his mind, all of them are redundant, but for the first time in a while, Scion heartfully appreciated everything he had before this encounter.

It truly was the first time being alive would be filled with lots of joy and adventures that would last for a lifetime.
