Chapter 9 Revenge plan

"The monthly test is around the corner, I want to focus on my studies," he said.

The teacher glanced at Mason silently as he read his expression seeing that he was adamant that he had no choice but to give in. After all, Mason was their top student.

"Then do this, find me a replacement first," he replied after a while.

"Consider it done," Mason said with a smile.

"Oooh, do you have someone in mind?" The teacher asked.

"Yes, Miles don't worry he is the most suitable candidate for this, he is extroverted and also fluent in French probably even better than me," Mason sounded so convincing.

"Fine, it seems you have made up your mind,"

"Yes, thank you I will take my leave."

Ethan walked back to class as he thought about the excuse he had made. He recalled what Miles had told him the previous day about maintaining his distance from Sky but he wasn't sure if he could. After all, this time would be quite different they were sharing a class so maintaining his distance wouldn't be so easy. But what he had to protect most was Sky finding out about his feelings.

"It's all set," he said taking his seat next to Miles.

"Already? Did the teacher accept just like that?" Miles was a bit shocked but it wasn't new to him.

Mason was one person who could reason and had the power to convince someone. It was also why he was successful in business.

"Mmmh," he replied.

"Have you told Sky about it?" Miles asked.

"No, why should I? It no longer concerns me deal with it however you want, I'm leaving," he said.

"Already? It's not even 3 pm," Miles said checking his watch.

"I have a business meeting to attend to," Mason picked up his bag and then walked out.

"As usual, why does he have the privilege of doing whatever he wants?" Miles sighed staring at Mason's retreating.

As soon as it struck 4 pm, the students were allowed to leave so Sky went towards Mason's seat. He stared at Mason's empty seat and then toward Miles.

"Where is he?" He tapped Miles on his shoulders.

"Gone, oooh do you want to discuss the tour thing?"

"Yeah," he replied.

"You don't need him anymore, he quit so I'm taking over," Miles said with a smile.

"He quit? Why?" Sky asked as he seemed bothered by it.

"Mason said he didn't want to waste any more time on irrelevant things," Miles couldn't help but exaggerate. This was one way of seeking revenge.

"Tch! Irrelevant thing? Did he actually say that?" Sky asked in shock and disbelief. It was the first time in years that he heard such a thing. He was the kind of guy who got attention and everyone tried to please him but Mason was someone who humiliated him over and over again.

He rarely didn't care about anything or anyone but seeing Mason's behavior, he grew utterly curious and interested to know more about him.

"He did, that is why he quit, he wants to focus more on studies," Miles said as he stared at Sky's profound réaction.

"So arrogant, so what you mean I'm irrelevant and dragging him behind?" Sky said in shock.

"I didn't say that, should we go discuss?" Miles changed the subject having achieved what he wanted.

"How dare he, say that I won't let him go so easily," he clenched his fists in anger.

"Are you done venting your anger? Because if you are done, let's go I want to get this done as soon as possible," Miles interrupted him.

Miles was quite happy with Mason's decision to quit, he wanted Sky to know that there was one person who wouldn't give in to him. Even though that was only known to him, he still wanted to use this to teach Sky a lesson. So he enjoyed annoying him and seeing him in anger.

"Why should I do as you say?" Sky said in anger.

"I'm leaving, you are so annoying," he glanced at Miles in annoyance and then stomped out.

"Suit yourself," Miles said as he carried his bag. He felt quite refreshed after all that.

"How dare you hurt my Mason's feelings Sky," Miles mumbled at himself.

The next day, Mason arrived at school late and then left early. He spent most of his time in the office part of it was he wanted to take some time off but with school going on, this was all he could do.

Being the top student, the teachers didn't bother about him too much as he was still updated when it came to his studies.

Sky could only watch from afar he couldn't admit it but he was being tortured by it. He wasn't sure if Mason was deliberately avoiding him and the only excuse he could use to approach him was the 'homework' thing.

Each time he tried to approach Mason, he was either cold, rude, or just ignored him or Miles would get in the way. So the other times, Mason was out of school, and as time moved by, their first month had already passed, and were soon starting their first exams.

During the exam period, Mason no longer went to work so that week, he spent his time in school.

But one thing Sky wanted was to show Mason no one was allowed to ignore him and by doing that, he had a plan. He wanted to show him that he was the only person who could ignore someone and by doing so, he promised to make Mason fall in love with him and then dump him. That was his revenge plan.

"Sky, are you sure you can do it?" One of his friends asked after hearing about the plan.

"I'm in full support, that nerd has humiliated you over and over again it's time to take action otherwise your reputation will be in ruins,"

"I can do it, I'm not someone who will lose easily," Sky said with a cunning smile.

"So you will dump him afterward?"

"Yes," Sky said.

"Are you sure? What if you end up falling in love?" His friends asked. That was something Sky didn't have in mind.

"I won't, he isn't my type," Sky replied.

"So what's your type then?"

"Why do you ask don't you already know?" One of his friends replied.

"Let's go to class, keep this a secret," Sky said.

"Don't worry, we got you,"

And that was going to be the beginning and probably the end of Mason's unrequited love.
