[38] The Plastic Basin Company

Chapter 38: The Plastic Basin Company

Although Yuta was aware that this place housed some vibrant social organizations approved by the government, he never imagined that he would have any interaction with them.

Fortunately, the owner of this shop didn't seem like a bad person, and with Takanashi Touka working there, it was likely that she was being taken care of by the shop owner.

At first, Yuta thought this wasn't necessarily a good thing, but then he considered that if Sora and Miu attended school nearby, they might receive some help, which made him feel much better.

After finishing their meal, Yuta and Takanashi Touka returned to the Takanashi household, which was also Hina's home.

Once Touka saw that there was no one else in the house, she bid them farewell. She had accompanied Yuta mainly because she was worried about him running into other relatives, which might have led to an awkward situation.

After Touka left, Miu cheerfully said, "Touka-nee is really nice! She just doesn't talk much."

Sora took out the key to unlock the door and nodded in agreement, "Yeah, Touka-nee is very pretty and seems quite capable too."

Hina, listening to her sisters, tugged at Yuta's pants and looked up at him, asking, "Uncle, is Touka-nee your girlfriend?"

Hina's sweet, innocent voice shocked Sora so much that she dropped the key she was holding.

Miu smiled and quickly grabbed Yuta's arm, hugging it tightly, "Uncle, what do you think of Touka-nee?"

Yuta had a very good impression of Touka. She was a beautiful young woman who matched his aesthetic preferences in many ways.

However, Yuta was shy and, since this was their first meeting, he awkwardly responded, "Don't say such things. A girl like Touka probably already has a boyfriend, right?"

"But just because she has a boyfriend, doesn't that mean she can't be your girlfriend too, Uncle?" Hina, noticing a potential issue, asked Yuuta with sincere curiosity.

Yuuta wasn't sure how to explain such things to a child, so he simply picked Hina up and said, "Hina, let's go home. What do you need to bring?"

"It's something very important!" Hina, unaware that Yuta was changing the subject, quickly started talking about something else with him.

Miu, standing beside her older sister, whispered, "It's okay, Onee-chan, but you really need to step up your game!"

Sora, flustered, tried to cover it up, "What are you talking about?! Hurry up and pack your things; we've already wasted too much time!"

Watching Sora hurriedly run upstairs, Miu sighed. "This sister who never shows her true feelings... No one else is going to wait for you like I do!"

"I'll help you out so we can be quicker," Yuta offered, wanting to assist Sora and Miu.

"Absolutely not!" Sora flatly refused, glaring at Yuta in frustration for not understanding a woman's heart, then stormed out of the room.

Miu also voiced her displeasure, "Big brother, how could you watch while girls are packing their clothes?! You're not allowed to peek!"

Yuta had no way to deal with these two teenage girls, so he let them be.

He crouched down and smiled at Hina, "Hina, how about Uncle helps you carry your things?"

"Hmph! Hina can do it herself!" Hina huffed and turned away, leaving Yuta looking helpless.

Kids love to imitate others, or maybe it's just the power of role models. Since both Sora and Miu wouldn't let Yuta help them pack, Hina naturally followed their lead and didn't let him help either.

Sora and Miu went upstairs to their room to start packing their clothes, while Yuta went to turn on the power and check the water and electricity in the apartment.

Yuta then entered the room that had belonged to Hina's parents—his sister and brother-in-law.

"Nee-san, brother-in-law, to take care of Sora, Miu, and Hina, I'll take over this place as soon as possible. I won't let anyone sell it off."

Yuta sat on the bed, gazing at the wedding photo on the wall, a picture that felt both unfamiliar and familiar—this was his sister and brother-in-law in this world.

The room still contained all their belongings, including a laptop and some personal items. Since Yuta had taken the three sisters with him, the other relatives hadn't felt comfortable taking anything in their absence.

If the three sisters were separated and raised by different relatives, this house, along with everything inside, would likely be sold off or divided.

Staring up at the ceiling, Yuta pondered what to do next.

He decided that he would talk to Sora and Miu later about borrowing the laptop. This way, he could continue working on things once they returned home.

Moreover, for Hina's healthy growth, he realized that he would need to gradually remove traces of the past. Items like the photos and personal belongings in this room would need to be stored away in a warehouse.
