CHAPTER 10 - CAUGHT

Orlando, Florida, Tuesday, 8:21 a.m.

A Tuesday morning shone brighter than the previous glooming days. Almost bringing its light to the creatures living below. But the sun peeked its highest, outliving the clouds, now offering a clear sky for the day.

The group had packed and returned to school. Dream kept up enough posture to last the day. Nevertheless, his rut still blistered through even with pills fighting it. The scent gave the Omega a rough time, feeling the smell ebbing away at his self-control.

George seemed to glaze past time, seeing the clock numbers as useless as Fundy's needs.

With the thought of Fundy in his mind, he gave some time to sniff the scents around him. But soon finding the Fox's trail in the mix. He grumbled though Fundy was never in this class.

A bell suddenly dismissed everyone, including the brunette's thoughts. George watched himself rushing to gather his belongings, Fundy's scent was getting stronger and clawing at his brain. The boy never wanted to make eye contact with him in case it sparked something,

Squeezing through the growing crowd, and raiding the door, he was able to pick his way through and continue. The hallway seemed outstretched, it would be bland if it wasn't for the blue lockers poking out the sides. It was soon swarmed with creatures, no longer seeking interest in the scenery he turned to his own.

Mindlessly tossing his stationary in his storage box, and gathering some food, Fundy's scent brushed against George's scent glands. Slamming his locker door in response, the metal gave a reaction with a loud clang.

"George!"

for once, the omega never wanted to hear the voice behind him say his name. Sighing as he spun on his heels, dramatically slapping his arms on his sides "What"

The brunette noticed the fox's ears would never be seen if it weren't for the black spiked tips. Though, they were roughly flattened against his head.

"Look, shit" Fundy looked frightened, rattling to his core. His words came in incomplete sentences, not thinking straight had gotten the fox to process his words. Coming into the brunette's ears in jumbles, like an unsolved puzzle.

"I'm so sorry, I just realized the shit they are gonna do-" he paused "like, fuck. You need to get out of here"

George only shook his head as if it would clear the clouds in his head. Nevertheless, his response was curved ears, horns even. The brunette's tail grew, bristling, not in the wind but in anger.

"seriously Fundy? This is so random, just go to lunch" George saw himself seeming more directed like a mother than angry and demanding.

Reacting with a shiver of poor communication skills. The brunette sighed, he disliked how soft he had become, and not knowing what caused it, he listened to Fundy's rant once again.

"Listen to me, George! they are coming to..." The fox was almost begging, his mango eyes were melted into the whites of his eyes, making a caramel mix. George saw how drained and pale Fundy appeared, words too. Yet, instead of warm sympathy, hatred overwhelmed the brunette

"Just-" Fundy pleaded

"Shut up! I'm not listening anymore." The omega snapped, placing a footing backward as if he were afraid of his own words.

But interrogations filled his brain. This fox was the same fox who blackmailed George only days prior. The same creature who held such thick controlling puppet strings over the Omega. But listening to the same person pleading, not for forgiveness, but for a warning?

Fundy attempted his last begs, failing at last. The regret and sorrow were stringing through his words but never getting to the brunette's heart.

Finally, George gave an impatient hiss, furrowing his eyebrows, he stormed off, his tail flagging restlessly behind.

A heavy sigh pushed through after Fundy was out of earshot. The Omega lost his hands in his hair, then into the depths of his pant pockets. Finding his feet wandering to the cafeteria, choking with chatter. He halted himself, grumbling that he forgot his food at his locker. Shrugging at the inconvenience he spotted his table and directed his feet.

Though a thick scent came over him, coughing from the abrupt aroma, Dream appeared in front of him. George flushed a hue of red as the Alpha grasped both his wrists.

"George, haven't you seen the most recent news?" The retriever's grip fastened.

The brunette swallowed panic-stricken. He sensed a sickening buckle in his stomach, the world around him caved, no longer feeling in control. Feeling as if he were falling into a bottomless pit, further and further away from self-control.

"uhm, no I'm not a grandpa watching the news all the time" With one last stroke of authority of his body, George yanked his hands away from the blondes.

Dream served no attention at his playful nudge, instead stayed serious "Everyone's talking about it" he paused

"Police are coming to the school, apparently some creature sent location information."

The Omega sank. Fundy.

Gritting his teeth, fear overcame him, and had every right to be, a prophecy full of trouble would come, but no warnings.

Fuck.

"George?" callings of his name tried to reach out to him, no answer.

"I'm going to get some food" With an excuse to spare him five minutes, he ran out of the cafeteria. "But you just have food in you're-" a voice faded as the Omega exited.

The hall was only a blur as tears blistered his eyes, doors, and lockers came and went. He received a questioning glance from Fundy, the fox was still hanging around the lockers.

The Omega ignored the fox, his feet began to wear at the abrupt abuse. But Omega knew someone was hard on his feet.

Speakers that were coming and going on the roof began speaking. "Students and teachers, everyone please make their way to the auditorium immediately." he knew the investigators were here, and time was chasing him. So was someone behind,

George began sloppily clanging his feet against the concrete. He slowed down growing tired and puffed, and giving a hard right, he crashed into a classroom.

Slamming open the door and stumbling forward to a stop, only his desperate reaches for air filled the room.

"George!"

Now finding who the footsteps behind him belonged to Karl and Sapnap. Their worried nature brought them to follow the Omega.

With no shame to follow the brunette, fear overwhelmed him. His eyes were given a layer of tears, spilling down his cheeks. George was crushed, he found a wall and crumbled against it. Karl and Sapnap sat on either side of the Omega like a fragile object, about to break and shatter at any moment.

The speaker in the room began repeating the words to report to the auditorium hastily.

George knew it was coming, the prophecy with no warnings, and that's what broke the brunette. The fear of not knowing what was to come.
