CHAPTER 11 - TEARS

George knew it was coming, the prophecy with no warnings, and that's what broke the brunette. The fear of not knowing what was to come.

——

Orlando, Florida, Tuesday 12:27 p.m.

The Omega could feel himself guided to an unfamiliar setting as if he were blind, blinded with tears.

Dream's scent only now lingered. As George's eyes gave way and cleared, he was brought vision once more. Two creatures he shared great bonds with sat on either side of him.

"Ow, ow Sapnap you're sitting on my tail!" The Omega choked out, hinting at the laughter of the panda's stupidity, even with the heavy negative emotions following. Lifting himself to free Georges's tail, the raven-haired mustered out a sorry with a playful scoff.

As the Omega prompts his tail to his side, no conversation dared to follow the mishap. Nevertheless, the situation finally came to George. Sniffling and letting his eyes freely fill with tears, the sudden act gave Karl a warning for comfort.

"We know everything" The wolf almost grieved alongside the brunette.

"What do I do?" Rising it fret, the situation came to him in a trouble of emotions. "Sapnap, can you take me to the abandoned side of the school? Like before?" The Omega was ranting ideas, only finding the plans that involve running from the problem.

The wolf and panda shared a concerned glance out of the brunette's vision, seeming to share the same worries.

"Fundy" George realized how his relentless actions and how sightless he was to Fundys pleading for a warning. His regret morphed into tears.

"He was only trying to help" He hiccupped  "I know what's going to happen"

"You know what's gonna happen?" Karl rephrased George's words in a questioning manner, lightly nudging for answers.

"I saw it when I fell into your portal" George gave an ugly wipe with his hand to rid of the tears building up at his jawline. "they ran tests on me, and sent me into a forest where you found me"

The explanation gave Karl his awareness of the situation, Sapnap was still mocking a confused face.

"What?" The panda was almost begging for answers, getting a disapproved glance from Karl. "George, tell me you didn't fuck up the future."

"How am I supposed to know if I did, I didn't know what was happening." The Omega couldn't help but think this was a lie. He had terrorized the thought his whole life and then witnessed it like a paralyzed dream. But, instead of the thought and dreams, it was finally coming to a close in the real world.

Karl didn't seem to believe his statement either, never-the-less moving the conversation; "George. Remember when I tried telling you something yesterday night?" The wolf started to jog the Omega's memory "Yeah"

Before Karl began, Sapnap started to rub repetitive circles on George's back, as a small gesture of comfort.

"During the paint twister, when Dream had told me to get more paint" The wolf shivered, goosebumps littering his body "I went past Fundy's room, his phone was laying on his bed"

George knew what was coming before Karl confessed to it. "It didn't have a passcode so I went through it, I shouldn't of but." The wolf silenced to expect reactions but none came aloud, continuing with a hint of guilt behind the next words;

"I found that he had sent the information, pictures, and a video."

"What was the video?" George didn't recall a video linked in the recent newsletter.

"I didn't open it, I didn't want to be caught on Fundy's phone any longer" Karl responded, the Omega couldn't help but slouch, more than he already was.

Silence followed, no more tears were spilling, only previous ones drying, and the motion Sapnap started on his back faded. Though, surprisingly, all three had nothing to express. They all seemed to enjoy each other's company like it was their last.

The sun rays were reaching into the room, dust particles roamed the classroom. Over-grown plants hung from the ceiling, the greenery was droopy and murky. But no longer examining his surroundings;

The brunette turned his ears towards the windows of the classroom. Sitting up from the two beside him, he walked to the glass. The blood in George's thin ears almost glowed a light red, as the sudden sun exposed the veins. His now bloodshot eyes softened, not in shock, but in an expected manner.

Many police cars and barriers bordered the school like it was an island. George saw the German Shepard's tugging on their leashes holding them back from what scents the school contained.

Before the Omega knew it, Sapnap and Karl followed his interests to the window. "Holy shit" Sapnap muttered.

"We gotta get you out of here" Karl worried. The panda agreed "It looks like they've blocked off the exit I led you to last time" Sapnap pointed out

"We might be able to go around the back, c'mon" Karl had grasped George's bicep and hustled the Omega forward to the door.

When they exited the classroom, the brunette knew it was wrong. Running away, fleeing, and escaping grew more draining than the last. It could've been the adrenaline the previous times that blinded him from what worse punishments would follow. Though He knew running could keep him safe, knowing he couldn't run forever, didn't help in his situation.

Thrusting his arm out of the wolf's grip, George halted "Wait." Both Sapnap and Karl paused at the Omega's command. "Why are you waiting we have to get out of here" Sapnap pestered, obviously not seeing a reason behind the brunette's words.

George sighed wishing he didn't always speak his mind straight away, now two impatient creatures were waiting for an explanation. But the Omega didn't want to explain himself, only hoping they already knew. The brunette thought about how the consequences would only raise and deliver worse if they kept running. Thinking about how much ease would be put on the school, the world, and even the police if he just turned himself in.

"I think I should just go to the police" he confessed, lowering his head in shame

"Are you crazy man?" The panda gave an exaggerated look, now looking up, George noticed Karl's shoulders drooped, he seemed in a daze.

"Don't you think it's wrong to run from the police idiot?"

"We both know what they are going to do to you George,"  The Omega thought Sapnap would come at him an in aggressive manner but instead, in a worried tone.

When the Panda heavily sighed, the brunette saw how much the other was holding back from showing. "If that's what you want" The two looked back at the wolf, who seemed to be back from his previous state. Looking at George, "Good luck" he spoke in a grim voice. The brunette was a little taken aback at Karl's no effort to stop him or argue. Instead, as if knew what was to come if they kept running.

"We will go around the back to get to the auditorium, we will meet you there if you are" Sapnap gave a small smile. Even with such a minor gesture, George felt as if he were in the wrong. Like being left behind and turned away from everyone.

But before he knew it, the panda wrapped an arm around Karl and led him to an opposite hallway they all came from.

As the two began to fade out of George's vision, he listened to their matching footsteps, they slowly grew faint and disappeared.

Letting out a tired exhale and swinging his arms, desperately trying to dwindling time. Knowing he'd have to move anyway, he began to walk down the deserted hallway he had priorly ran down in tears.

"George!" The Omega looked up from his trance on the floor and saw the Alpha, Dream.

"Dream?" George half-yelled, half-yawned, not bothering to cover his mouth. The Omega expected himself to be disappointed in seeing the Alpha since the fight at the park still lingered.  But instead, he was filled with warmth, he didn't exactly enjoy the feeling, but he accepted it.

The Alpha was standing at the opposite end of where the brunette was headed. As they walked up to each other, meeting in the middle of lockers and classroom doors, the both of them got a better look at one another.

George didn't realize how rough Dream appeared than the last time they met. It could've been from the sudden show up from the police, or the struggle of his rut.

"George? Your eyes are puffy, you good?" The dirty blonde questioned, the Omega responded subconsciously by rubbing his eyes, hoping the trails of emotion would rid.

"Uhm, wait, what are you doing here anyway?" George changed the subject as if he were scared to show his feelings.

"The teachers sent me to look for the missing people on the roll," Dream replied, seeming to buy the sudden digression of the topic. "I was going to when you ran off, but the police showed up"

George's ear flicked with nothing to say, but the Alpha continued; "didn't think they would show up so fast."

Me neither. Internally he thought.

"Oh, have you seen Sapnap or Karl? They were with you when you guys ran off."

The Omega didn't want to cause more trouble in finding the two, plus they should already be on their way. "Er, no" George cheesed, hoping to get away with his white lie. The dirty blonde raised a playful eyebrow but laughed it off.

"Uhm well, we know you're a beta, but the police are doing a blood test on everyone to make sure." Dream explained to the brunette to follow. "c'mon" he encouraged

The two walked down the hall in silence, with no words to exchange. George's stomach twisted in threatening ways, yearning for him to turn back. He knew where this would lead, fighting the urge to return and be overwhelmed by Karl's and Sapnap's comfort.

Dream must have seen George's face of doubt and attempted to comfort him, "If you're worried about the needle from the blood test" he chuckled "It's only a small needle, you'll be fine"

The Alpha then showed his index finger covered with a plaster, "They only need a sample"

As the two approached the double door leading to the auditorium, the brunette couldn't suppress the smile, caused by the dirty blonde's dwelling nature. "Oh, okay." The Omega hoped it eased Dream's thoughts, tricking him into thinking it was his biggest concern in this situation.

George quickly lowered his ears and the obnoxious volume emitting from the large room. When they entered, he quickly darted his eyes around trying to find Karl or Sapnap

Instead of finding the two, he found that the auditorium was completely rid of the chairs. The seats would fill up the huge room around the stage, which would be easier to notice if it weren't for the many students cluttering the room.

On George's left were the police piercing small needles into student's fingers, and as he guessed scientists behind them working away at tables of samples. Turning to his right, was the entire school pressed against the wall, as if they were scared to step an inch closer to the scene.

"Fundy Damen come forward." A lower voice boomed across the speakers on the roof, the Omega watched Fundy dredge his way to the front as another student re-entered the crowd with a new plaster.

"Dream, George!" The duo noticed Quackity waving them over.

"Hey man" The duck directed at the brunette swaggering his body. George gave an obnoxious giggle at Quackity's playful efforts

"They're going in alphabet order by the way" Dream elbowed lightly at the Omega's shoulder. George just nodded swallowing thickly, winding his thumbs together.

Fundy, F. He started to rile himself up, only now realizing the humiliation he will be exposed to when they find his lurking secret. Or how betrayed his unaware friends will look, or even their desperate reactions to bring him back. When he started to debate things was the comprehension of what kind of things would happen if he wasn't rescued by Karl and his abilities. The thoughts shook and shivered George to the core, Dream, and Quackity were catching up on each other which gave the brunette an open opportunity.

The doors were gapping ajar, turning his body to the door, and was about to make a charge. Giving one last swoop of the room, he faced the doors once more to be shadowed.

It was Karl and Sapnap arriving, like they were a barricade to the doors, stopping George from progressing any farther.

"Gail Mcgee come up the front" The voice boomed again. Shutting his eyes, the Omega dreamt that this would all come to a close, letting him fall freely into darkness and waking in his bed. But to no avail, it didn't come true, opening his eyelids to meet Karl's sore ones.

"Are you going to be okay?"

"I mean, it's a bit late now" The brunette choked out a painful laugh, sweeping some hair that fell into his eye view out of the way. The time traveler gave George an unexpected hug, flinching at the sudden movement, the Omega would never replicate the physical touch. Doing just that, the brunette stood awkwardly in the arms of Karl. As the wolf pulled away laughing,

"I knew you wouldn't hug me back" They both gave a short giggle. George quickly put a hand into his pocket, pulled out his phone, and handed to the time traveler. "Don't-" The Omega was cut off by the speaker booming once more.

"George Davidson come forward." It felt as if everyone froze, the brunette wanted to move but his limbs were tightened stiff. Feeling many eyes around him peering at him, like owls waiting for their prey. He desperately wanted to lift his feet and get it over with but they were stuck, stuck, and planted into the ground in ice.

Though as if Karl was a campfire, his heat seemed to melt the ice away and allow George to move once more. The two locked eyes, secretly thanking each other for their presence, the Omega was the first to break this contact and began separating from the cluster.

As he walked over with eyes burning into his back, his eyes never left the ground. He felt his heartbeat accelerating to a faster rate, his hands beginning to tremble at his sides.

But once he made it to the station the police had set up, everything went silent, George cringed at the veins in his ears throbbing, barely being able to hear.

Meeting with a table placed in front of him separated him and the police officer. The worker wore a mask and sleek gloves, behind him on the left was another man working at many blood samples too many to count. His coat was draped to his knees, wearing glasses that were fogging from the breathing of his mask. He smelt the air sensing they were both Alphas, if he were to make a break for it now, one commanding scent could release and he would have to stop in his tracks.

The Omega gave a second to realize the front man pulling a needle out of a jar, it reminded George of a sewing needle like his mother uses when she stitches fabric.

"Hand" the man spoke, even under the heavy mask and George's pulsating ears, the brunette was still able to obey. Pulling out his hand, apparently too slow for the police officer, he grabbed his wrist and spun for his palm to face up.

The man didn't react to the Omega's flinch at the rough act, George swallowed thickly closely watching the needle nearing his index finger.

Continuing to watch the thin metal, he heard some annoyed grumbles from afar. "God, we will be here all day if we don't find this Omega soon."

"The information that they sent had such little evidence, boss is so ignorant when he has the smallest lead" another complained, shifting uncomfortably as he perceived the jab. As fast as the needle entered his bloodstream, it was pulled out just as quickly. Seeing the blood ooze out of his finger, the throbbing soon came aloud as the cut released the liquid.

The other lab worker from behind came to the front with a small piece of paper and scooped up the mess on his finger. As the man with the glasses returned to his table to the side with the blood, he put it into what looked to be a tester tube. The original officer offered him a plaster and tossed the used thin metal in a trashcan littered with many more.

"Wait here until the results come back" He instructed, George unraveled the plaster and wrapped his finger tightly. All he could focus on was his heartbeat, it was so out of control from the rush of adrenaline. With this problem becoming out of hand, the Omega was tearing between mixed signals his heart was pumping. Goosebumps were all over his body, his head ached, and feeling his feet giving way beneath him.

"Holy shit!" The lab worker was peering into an unfamiliar machine "You're gonna want to see this bro" He chuckled to the other officer, stepping away from the machine and grinning. The police worker stepped forward and witnessed through the lenses. Both of their mouths were left ajar, George felt his throat closing in, making it hard to breathe. His ears continued to drum louder,

"Cuff him now!" The officer signaled then many more surrounded him, the brunette desperately turned to see Karl's warming gaze, but the bodies of police blocked him from doing so. His arms were thrown behind his back, clucked together with metal.

The Omega yowled at the handcuffs digging into his wrists, they locked together with a winding clank. Horrid scents filled the room, his tail was fluffed bristling with fear, just like the stench he was only now realizing he was releasing.

Faster than George could process, a hand got a fastened grip on the brunette's brown locks. Reacting with a hiss as the police officer tugged roughly at his scalp. All that filled the Omega's scent glands was the man behind him was releasing a commanding scent. He saw that the crowd of men in front of him stepped to the sides like curtains.

As the man pulled his hair longer, he spoke in a raspy tone than George last remembered. "This is the Omega that has been hiding beneath you all!" Like a circus animal, the brunette's head was being dragged around with the man's hand.

But something inside the Omega shattered into small shards. He just noticed his friends, huddled together as if they couldn't lose another one in their pack. Dream looked pale at the news like his whole friendship was a hidden lie. Nevertheless, even though Sapnap and Karl knew what was to come, they looked just as devastated as the rest.

"Don't you hate him for causing this much trouble for you all?" Instead of the repeating thrumming in George's ears, the ringing was rising louder as the man continued to yell insults.

The Omega's eyes began to water at the harsh grip on his hair, he refused to look like he was showing emotion in front of the clutter.

"Pack everything up, I'll take him." The officer instructed the others, "Walk Omega"

George wrenched his teeth together at the object-like nickname, and with that he halted in his tracks, refusing to obey.

"Walk." He growled, overwhelming the brunette with his commanding scent, with the little control he had left over all the commands, still managing to stay put.

"Why won't you obey Omega?" whispering in George's ears, the man had now he had let go of his hair, putting one hand on George's wrist and one on his bicep. The brunette didn't bother stopping a tear from freely falling down his cheek.

"You can't just take a student like that!" quickly peering over his left shoulder, Dream was shouldering his way through the police, struggling to hold him back. George was almost frightened, the blonde didn't seem like the one he saw minutes ago.

"Let me get to him" Dream didn't seem to care who obeyed his commanding hormones, but it got to George in seconds. More powerful than the previous ones, guessing that it was out of control from his rut.

As the men quickly let go and the blonde trudged up to the one holding the brunette. But the officer behind George spoke first. "The lead Alpha of this school hm?"

The Omega was zoned out when Dream was speaking, these scents were overwhelming, though realizing he was out of control of his body. Seeing it was his inner heat, fulfilling Dreams commands. Panic-struck, George hurriedly began to win himself back over, worried he'd do something undoable in front of a crowd.

As he continued to take control, words were becoming clearer;

"Where's you're mate, Alpha?" The officer seemed to mock the blonde's high rank. Before Dreams reply the man intercepts. "But It looks like the Omega is obeying your order"

As George overpowered himself, he couldn't help but feel the nasty ideas the man was planning.

"But not mine." The officer processed. "Change of plan, we are taking the Alpha too!" The man yowled to the others. Dream and George looked at one another, knowing the both of them were in too deep to swim. They would drown in this mess together.

Seeing Dream being held back and cuffed because of the brunette's selfish actions. Now knowing what true defeat and shame felt like, broke him.

"Alpha, command the Omega to walk" Instead of mocking the blonde's rank, he was abusing against both of their wills.

"Are you crazy? I'm not you're fucking object!" Dream refused to accept orders from a lower rank. But before the officer interpreted a threat;

"I'll walk" Unwillingly, George rasped, not wanting to see the blonde be used against him. However, that was the last time he saw Dream before the two were separated into different transport vehicles.

On the short distance to the car, George was given unnecessary shoves to walk faster, both of them knew the brunette was dwindling, desperately wishing Karl would spark something in clear air and appear in his portal.

With no luck in his wish, the man opened the door to his car, shoving the Omega in by the head.

"God, If I could've killed you on the spot, I would of." The officer warned, bending down to get to George's level in the car.  "You're lucky they need to reproduce with you." The disgusting words that left the police's mouth would only be thought of as a threat. In this case, it was almost a warning for what was to come ahead.

The man pulled away and slammed the door. The Omega only now registered how tired he was, the overwhelming hormones and shock had blocked him from realizing earlier. Despite his hands being forced into an unnatural place behind his back, George managed to drift to slumber. With the low hum of the car echoing in his ears.
