"Ignore your dad. Has Arthur caused you any trouble again?" Her mother's elegant face revealed a hint of concern.

Amalia took a deep breath, "No, I'll come home tonight."

Her mother's eyes brightened slightly, and nodding eagerly, "Alright, alright. Mom will cook and wait for you. Are you staying here tonight?"

Amalia nodded slightly.

"Honey, honey, let me talk to our kid!" Her father was bouncing around like a child behind her mother.

"What's the rush? Your daughter is coming back tonight, there's plenty of time to talk."
