"We don't need the money. We still have plenty of our own, and your dad has sold quite a few Amulets," Mrs. Vanquez said.
"Dad is still selling Amulets? Where does he sell them?" Amalia asked in surprise.
"He sells them to the people in this compound. They're quite interested in the Amulets that your dad draws, especially your boyfriend's family. They bought quite a few, and General Silva's troops happen to have a need for them, so they bought some too," Mr. Vanquez said while eating.
"Why are you alone today? Where's your boyfriend?" Mrs. Vanquez suddenly asked.
She had already accepted the fact that her daughter has a lover.
Amalia said he hadn't been around recently; and he had some business to attend to.
Mrs. Vanquez looked skeptical, "Did you two have a fight?"
Amalia sighed, "No, our relationship is fine."
Mrs. Vanquez nodded, "As long as there's no quarrel."
