Failing to make sense of it all, he pushed the thought aside and sneered, "What are you doing down here? Your mech squad isn't even stationed here."
"Who said I can't come down here just because my mech squad isn't stationed here? Did you make that rule? Does the general know about it?" Kenny Lin, using Xevra's identity, retorted with a series of pointed questions.
Koryn's eyes widened in shock.
This was indeed the Xevra he knew—just as insufferable as ever.
"Fine, look around if you want, but don't say I didn't warn you. Some things down there aren't to be messed with. If something happens, not even General Zorik can protect you."
"Relax, I'm not you," Kenny Lin shot back before ignoring him entirely and heading downward.
Koryn ground his teeth in frustration.
What did he mean by "I'm not you"? Was Xevra losing it?
As Koryn turned around to leave, something clicked in his mind.
