Following Kenny Lin's intention, Officer Khan refined the message slightly and sent it.

When the alien technician read the reply, his face showed surprise.

"Well? What did Aelra's people say?" someone asked.

The technician recounted the message. "It's strange. General Aelra is actually willing to share part of the energy with us."

"Nothing surprising about that," Nykthar said arrogantly, as if he'd expected it. "General Aelra wouldn't dare provoke our Prince."

"Besides," he continued, "Planet Noctis's energy reserves are so abundant that even General Aelra couldn't monopolize it alone. It's better to curry favor with the Prince."

"But they claim the Space Insectoid Queen was already driven off. That's odd. How did they manage to drive the queen off their territory?"

"Maybe they used some trick, or perhaps we overestimated the queen. The Space Insectoid Queen in this low-dimensional universe may be far weaker than we thought."
