Episode 3: Dilemma with Gravity

As she hummed softly, she pulled up another hologram showing the solar system. Highlighting the different distances between its home star and the forming planets, one can see different spectrum of colors, closest to the farthest.

"Alright, what is this? Gravitational pull? Why are they measured?"

Placed differently in the hologram, she quickly tapped it and separated it from the rest. Tapping more on the hologram she also separated more images from it.

"The star's gravity is stronger than both of their Lagrange points and the gravity well."

Hearing that little tidbit from Callisto, she scanned the page that he was referring to. Looking at the calculations done on each of their Lagrange points, her tired facial expression slowly devolved into a frown.

"So, if there is another gravity-well phenomenon and it comes from its host star, there is a chance that one of the asteroids will be pulled away."

After hearing the data convergence gathered by Callisto, she put both of her arms on the table as she slowly massaged her head. Noticing a headache forming in her head. She asks:

"Alright, it will be futile to try and hide from the armada, however, we can try something else. For now, get closer to the area you specified."

"As you wish madam"

With determined vigor, she stood up from her seat and walked to her office. She sat to a chair nearest to the wall. Said wall is filled to the brim with illustrations, from the ceiling to the floor. While one might say it is just random scribbles from a child, for her it is treasure. Looking at them fondly, she slowly reminisced the times she spent together with her family and friends.

As the tears flowed, she slowly turned to her table. On it, is a hologram that depicts an image of her and her family together in front of a stage. Behind it, is a beautiful mosaic of nature, the setting sun on the horizon. But as the night went by, it was filled with happiness, applause, and pageantry. No one knew that there would be a tragedy ahead.

Only a few minutes had passed, but for her it felt like forever. She stood up, dried her tears, and went to her dresser. Her dresser was simple yet quaint, it has a big mirror supported by the sturdy cabinet underneath. She sat on the tall chair and stared at the mirror. She saw herself, and asked:

"Where did I go wrong? All I want is to invent for the greater good."
