Halloween

"Never - in all my time at Hogwarts - how dare you - might have broken your neck -" people tried to tell her that Harry had only done it to help a friend but she wouldn't have it. Once class finished I headed to Professor Snape's room for our lesson after letting Ron and Hermione know. When I got there I noticed he was already outside waiting before we headed inside, I noticed he had moved everything out of the way. "I moved everything just in case your ability goes out of control." I nodded before doing everything that he told me knowing I needed to if I was going to control this power. We started by meditating before we got into anything to serious which had Snape trying to get into my head. He had me practicing how to create a shield or its proper name was Occlumency, which apparently I had a knack for. Although it only came with practice, I was able to do it before we left to go to Dumbledore's office. I was surprised when we came to an eagle statue before Professor Snape said the password with me on the stairs. "He is waiting for you at the top of the staircase, there is only one door up there, be careful going back to your room Ms. Potter." I nodded thanking him before I wasn't able to see him anymore knowing I'd be in a meeting with Dumbledore. When I got to his door I knocked on it before being allowed to enter which I did worriedly. He was sitting at his desk which had me gulping as I walked over to him seeing the Sorting hat in front of him. "So Ms. Serena it seems you've had a fun first few days, from what Severus has told me you're able to use your mind to enter into others minds." I looked down knowing it wasn't something I should do no matter what but I also knew that he wasn't judging me. "Yes headmaster, but I wasn't able to fully use it until I meet Professor Snape sir." 

"You are not in trouble dear, it's an extremely rare to find one you can use your abilities. Especially one who belongs in all of the houses, which has never happened in Hogwarts history." I looked at him shocked wondering what this meant and what he was planning for me. "I'll give you all the passwords for each house, as well as letting the prefects know about you so they can show you were to go for each room." I looked at him worried wondering if this was actually a good idea since that would mean I could enter each room. "Headmaster are you sure that's a good idea? What if something happens??" He just kept smiling at me which only made me more worried but I knew he has a reason for this. "Do not worry little one, everything will be alright. The hat never lies it wouldn't have placed you in every house if you didn't have the traits for each one, which you do my dear, you love studying, you are very loyal to those you trust, you will do anything to get what you want, and your very brave to try new things. Especially when you sat down on the broom while waiting for Madam Hooch to return." I blushed at that I didn't know he had heard about that which only made it more embarrassing since I was only testing that out. "I had read about it before so I wanted to test it out I didn't think it would work headmaster." He just smiled at me almost as if knowing that this things taken lot of courage and knowledge. "Do not fret young one because I've been inventing things for a long time, most of it has been things no one has thought of. I think it's a good thing to invent new items that could help you out a lot." I smiled up at him glad that someone understands about trying out new things rather than sticking to the old ways.

We talked a little more about what he was planning which was basically me not telling anyone about my powers except Harry since he already knew. I would have to be extra careful about it protecting me as well since lots of people want this power but not for good reasons. Once we were done I was allowed to leave so I headed down to see if I could find my brother. I saw him walking down the hall on his way to the Great Hall so I ran over to him and jumped on his back smiling. "Serena! I was starting to worry you'd miss dinner." He said helping me get down before he hugged me already knowing about my meeting with Professor Snape and Dumbledore. "No even if I did they would have made sure I ate before the day would be over." I said as we walked into the dining hall which I noticed Draco didn't like too well since he was looking at Harry. When we sat down Harry started talking about how he was recruited for the Quidditch team as their Seeker. Ron was really surprised about this since first years never made the team plus he was the youngest player in a century. "I start training next week but don't tell anyone Wood wants to keep it a big secret." I nodded knowing he only told them because he was letting me know about it so I wouldn't worry. Then Fred and George walked over which had me smiling since I had been thinking of going to them so they could help me. I knew we would be locked in when we got back home so I wanted to be able to get us out of that situation. "Well done. Wood told us. Were on the team too - Beaters." George said looking at Harry but I knew it was because they were only doing it to make him relax. "I tell you, were going to win that Quidditch cup for sure this year, we haven't won since Charlie left, but this years team is going to be brilliant. You must be good, Harry, Wood was almost skipping when he told us." 

I had to smile at that since it was weird trying to picture Wood skipping around Hogwarts which also had me wondering if anyone else saw it. "Anyway, we've got to go, Lee Jordan reckons he's found a new secret passageway out of the school." I remembered the Marauders then as well as all the stuff they had gotten into when they were in Hogwarts. "Bet it's the one behind the statue of Gregory the Smarmy that we found in our first week. See you." I was brought out if my thoughts right then since I wanted to talk to them about some things. "Ah, wait! Can I talk with you two later?" They seemed to think about it for a minute before they both smiled nodding at me happily which had me smiling as well. "Why do you wanna talk to them?" I looked over at Ron still smiling already knowing why I wanted to talk to the twins but I had a feeling he thought it was for something else. "Its only so they can teach me some of there tricks so we can get our stuff when we need to." That seemed to click with Harry knowing how our relatives are so it was easy to work around that instead. That seemed to make sense for the others as well so I made sure to find them later plus I had to work all this in with my other after school stuff. Then Draco and his goon's showed up to taunt Harry thinking he got expelled which was false. However Harry just had to fight back but I knew Draco couldn't do anything without his two meatheads. 

Then he started talking about a wizards duel which brought back memories of the book. Draco would challenge Harry to a duel at midnight in the trophy room but he would never show. Instead he would tell Filch about it to get Harry in trouble and either have detention or expelled. However I knew that no matter what I said to Ron he wouldn't listen but I knew Harry would since he knows about my past life. "I'll let this go, but only if I come... I can keep lookout while you boggel heads either get caught or fight." I could tell they didn't like it but agreed since it would be hard to keep a look-out for Filch while dueling. When it was time to go back to our rooms I stayed awake by the fire telling Hermione I still had homework from Professor Snape to finish. She understood before heading up to bed or at least that's what I thought before she came back down with her books. 

"We can stay up together then... but that's not a Potions book??" I had out the book about magical items that I was told to memorize so I just smiled at her. "Yea I went to his room after I got out of the infirmary to ask about the two necklaces I got from Draco. One was what I had figured a love necklace, but this one surprised me..." I said pulling out the protection necklace he had given me smiling softly since he didn't have to do it. "It has a protection charm on it, so Professor Snape wants me to memorize all the items in here so I know what they are. If I find one to give it to him immediately since I'm not sure if it won't happen again with me being a Potter." She was about to say something but stopped before remembering about our first day with everyone talking about us. "Ok I see your point." I smiled at her before we began to study but just before midnight the boys came down surprising me since I'd forgotten about the duel. "What's she doing here Serena." I looked at him confused before I remembered that I was going with them to the duel. "We were studying I almost forgot about the duel..." Then Hermione started going on and on about breaking school rules and looking at the house points, it had me wanting to jinx her. So we all headed out only for Hermione to be forced to come with us and it wasn't long after that we found Neville sitting in a hallway sniffling, fast asleep. So we brought him along since he was freaked out but I was also happy since he wouldn't be in trouble now. 

When we got to the trophy room I sighed seeing Filch and Mrs. Norris there before turning to Ron to glare at him which had him gulping. Then we started to back up only for Neville to knock down a suiting armor with Ron which had us running down the corridor. Then Peeves, the poltergeist, came around the corner at us while also telling Filch about us which had us running again. Ron complained about being trapped so Hermione pushed past us since we were stopped at a door that was at the end of the hallway. "Alohomora!" The door opened immediately so we all entered into the room before shitting the door quickly while listening through the door. We heard Filch talking with Peeves about us but Peeves wasn't giving him anything which had me smiling. Filch left cursing after Peeves when he took off after not saying anything but froze turning around since standing before us was a three headed dog. I wanted to to over to it so I could pet it but Harry kept me back from doing that he pulled me back through the door. 

Then we all practically ran back to our dorm completely exhausted although the fat lady didn't like having us come back so late at night. "What do they think there doing, keeping a thing like that locked up in a school? If any dog needs exercise, that one does." I smiled at Ron knowing what he meant it wasn't right to lock up any animal no matter the reason but Hermione chose right then to let out her temper. "You don't use your eyes, any of you, do you? Didn't you see what it was standing on?" I thought back to when we saw the dog but my attention was more focused on the dog. "Sorry Hermione I was looking at the dog... I wanted to let him out..." I could hear Harry sighing which had me pouting while looking at him which had the others laughing at that. "Its ok Serena I know how you are with animal's, but the dog was standing on a trapdoor. Its obviously guarding something. I hope your pleased with yourselves. We could have all been killed - or worse expelled. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to bed. Then she turned and headed up to the girls room which had me smiling after her before turning to Harry and hugging him. "Night Bubby, Ron, and be nice to her any normal person would have been frozen solid before a three headed dog or something they don't know about." Harry just smiled at me as I made my way up the stairs and to my room before flopping down into my bed happily. It was pretty calm until October came around but by then I had a schedule up with Professor Snape about our lessons. Although I thought it was funny that Draco was shocked when Harry walked into the Great Hall after his supposed midnight duel. Harry then told them about the package that Professor McGonagall had brought to the school shortly before school started. Then the room filled with owls coming to deliver our mail but I knew we wouldn't be getting anything as usual. I was surprised when what looked like a broom dropped down in front of him which had me remembering about McGonagall giving him a better broom. It would be for his Quidditch practice and he and Ron left with it while I grabbed the rest of the mail for safe keeping. I opened my mail to see a few letters from Draco's mom which had me smiling since at least she was sane. I managed to give them their letter once I got back to the dorm, apparently girls could go up to the boys dorm but they couldn't come to ours. 

Then Harry took off to his Quidditch practice as well as to learn about the game so when Halloween came we could smell the feast wafting through the corridors. Then during Professor Flitwick's class he paired us up to practice the flying charm which I was getting bored about doing. However it seemed Ron was having a hard time about being paired with Hermione since she kept trying to help him but he refused to listen to her. So when he told her to do the spell she managed to do it along with me which had our Professor happy but Ron in a bad mood. He got really upset about all of this and even started badmouthing her as we were heading across the field which made me mad. Just as I was about to step in front if him to tell him to shut up when Hermione ran past us which really infuriated me so I stepped in front of him before slapping him. "Ronald Weasley! You are an ass-whole!! She was only helping you and you treated her like she was an eyesore! Is this how you treat friends? Well of so then I don't want any part of it!" I said before running after Hermione but I lost her so I started reaching out for her and found her near me. I immediately took off for where I had felt her before going into the girls bathroom before going over to the one stall that was closed. "Hey Hermione don't listen to what he said he's an idiot. He's just jealous that your better at it than him since he comes from a wizarding family." 

I heard her giggle a little which had me smile before listening to her complain out him for a little bit. "Why are you here Serena you should be enjoying the feast tonight..." I sighed knowing it would have been a glorious feast but I knew my friend needed me more right now. "Your more important than a simple feast Hermione, your my best friend it would be boring without you there. Besides I'm ticked off at Harry and Ron right now so it's better for me to stay here before I go off on Ron again." She just laughed before I heard the click of the lock before it opened allowing me to enter into it. I immediately pulled her into a hug which she returned before crying some more into my shoulder but then I smelled something really fowl. Then I heard something pounding against the floor before feeling someone panicking which sent pain through my head. "Nghn!" I grabbed my head closing my eyes while Hermione opened the stall door only to freeze before coming back into the stall. She grabbed me before pulling me down just as the stall came crashing down, that's when I saw the troll. "Oh great..." I said before reaching out for Hermione to pull her away while pulling out my wand thinking of one of the spells I had practiced. "Protego!" I yelled out doing the movements for it as the troll swung at us only for it to hit the barrier I had just created.

However it did little to help since we were still pushed back a little, my thoughts immediately went to Professor Snape asking for help. Just then my brother and Ron run inside before they started to attack the troll, then out of no-where Shina came running in. She immediately started scratching the trolls legs just as Harry and Ron ran in they immediately tried to help us get away from the troll with little luck.
