CHAPTER 41

Y/N'S POV

The week flew by between the classes and the workouts I was undergoing. After many trial and error tests in the forest, I had come to the conclusion that the key was to be able to have total control over my emotions. At the moment when I got angry and rushed, I was unable to create anything beyond a little flame, so I had to remain calm. In those moments, I realized the importance of meditation and why my grandparents forced me to spend hours in silence in the forest.

As for the bond with my mother, it was still present and she was still trying to communicate with me through my nightmares. However, having learned to use new skills, I no longer felt as vulnerable as before and I could cope with them quite well. It was basically like I had learned to ignore her and now I could have constant control over myself, so it felt really good.

- Yoko: Fuuuuuuck! - Yoko shouted as she entered our room - Have you seen my glasses?

-Y/N: Have you gone outside again without them? - I raised an eyebrow amused as I threw the glasses at her and watched as smoke literally came out of her eyes - I didn't have vampires for such clumsy creatures.

-Yoko: Hey - she put on her glasses - Do you want me to transform you into my new fur coat once I skin you? - she threatened me.

-Y/N: Try it, you'll have to face Enid before you put a finger on me - I said victoriously - It's going to be no, huh? I get it, she's too powerful. I don't even dare to face her myself sometimes.

- Yoko: But yours is for a different reason - she smiled mockingly - The minute she gets serious with you, you start drooling and your panties fall to the floor - she let out a giggle - You're lost when she takes out her fangs, and I understand... Everyone has their own fetishes.

-Y/N: Ahem - I cleared my throat - Shouldn't you be with her and Wednesday for the race? - I changed the subject.

-Yoko: Yes, but I've come back in search of my glasses, genie - she reminded me - Are you coming? Enid is unbearably excited because you see her in her kitty outfit - she looked me up and down and pointed her finger at me - By the way, she is too pure and innocent so I'm going to remind you: You looks but can't touch.

-Y/N: Why are you telling me that? - I tried to play dumb and innocent.

- Yoko: Addams... Enid in a kitty suit, it's something too irresistible for your animal instinct and your revolutionized hormones - she smiled mockingly - Wait until you come of age, don't be pigs - she said walking out the door.

I clicked my tongue and shook my head when I noticed that my fangs and claws had grown from just imagining what Enid looked like as a kitten. What was happening to me? I had spent days in the forest working out how to control my emotions, and yet when it came to her I lost control of absolutely everything. I took a quick shower to calm down and ran outside to watch my first Poe Cup race.

-Director: I am happy to announce that this year, as usual, we will be able to play a new edition of the famous Poe Cup in honor of our founder - she smiled - And now, without further delay, we will ask the teams to send us a signal to start - she waited for everyone to be ready before raising his arm with a gun up - Ready... On your marks... Go! - she fired.

I was really surprised by how faithful the description of the wolf had been about the race, there really were no rules and they were attacking each other with different weapons. It looked a lot more fun than I thought so I decided not to miss anything of the event and I transformed into my animal form to run along the shore of the lake following the canoes. It was then that out of the blue I bumped into one of Bianca's lapdogs while he was taking off her shirt.

-Y/N: Hey - I interrupted him - Are you going somewhere? - I smirked.

-Kent: Oh, yes - he smiled - Bianca has asked me to divert the other canoes by turning me into a newt.

-Y/N: Ah, I didn't know that you could cheat without participating - a smile came over my face - I have also come to fulfill my part of the mission.

- Kent: Do you have a mission too? - he asked excitedly - What do you have to do?

Poor thing, Kent was really handsome, kind and loyal, but he was also amazingly idiotic. Enough to not be aware that I was distracting him without even having to make use of my skills. I took pity on him and decided to show him the will-o'-the-wisp so that he would really think that was my job, he was just very silly.

- Kent: It's amazing! - he said touching the will-o'-the-wisp- I touch it and I don't get burned! - he looked at me surprised.

-Y/N: - I rolled my eyes - You know what's more amazing? - the boy shook his head - Even if I walk away, you will still be able to have the fire that does not burn. Shall we try it? - the boy nodded.

I left laughing towards the area where they had left the canoes because I couldn't believe that this distraction had really worked. Where was the limit for idiocy? It was something to reflect on, however I wasn't going to stop to do it because I thought it would be more interesting to help the Black Cats win. I approached the jokers' canoe in my animal form and distracted them so that Wednesday created a gap with a crossbow in his canoe.

- Wednesday: Well done - she said when she noticed my presence.

I waited for Yoko and Enid to get back to the canoe and paddle back to run back to the newt boy who was still playing with the wisp. I entertained him for a while longer until I saw that the Black Cats were about to reach the finish line after Bianca and the rest of her team had been left behind.

- Kent: What happened? The fire has disappeared - he looked at me confused.

-Y/N: It's just that I've already fulfilled my mission to distract you - I shrugged my shoulders and ran to where the crowd was waiting for the winners.

I watched as Enid and Wednesday raised the Black Cats flag as they crossed the finish line.On the other hand, Yoko had finally beaten her girlfriend to something. I kept my distance from all the crowd until the commemorative photos were taken and the girls were presented with the trophy. Apparently it would be kept in Ophelia Hall for another year. I waited for them to stop weighing the wolf down and finally it was she who came up to me, literally throwing herself into my arms. How many times should I remind her that I was against public displays of affection?

- Enid: Have you seen it? !! - she said excitedly - We have won again! We are unbeatable, we have achieved the victory for two consecutive years - she smiled and looked at Wednesday - The feeling of feeling superior to Bianca must be raising her happiness to levels never seen in her - she let out a giggle and turned her eyes to me - Y/N? - looked at me confused.

-Y/N: Tell me - I said staring at her.

- Enid: Why did you take out your fangs? - touched one of my fangs with a finger - Are you as excited as I am?

Yes, yes I was excited but probably not for the same reason as her. Why the fuck did she look so good dressed all in black? I thought she would look weird not wearing her colorful clothes, but no, there she was and she looked too good. So good that I was going crazy, I had to clench my fists to keep my claws from coming out.

-Y/N: Congrats on the win - I smiled and tried to calm down to save the fangs - I think I got too excited watching the Black Cats.

-Enid: - she smiled proudly and took my hands - If you liked it so much, join our team next year. I wouldn't mind winning with a landslide, every now and then it must feel good - she stared at me for a few moments - Are you okay?

-Y/N: I couldn't tell you... - I looked her up and down and bit my lips - I didn't know that seeing you dressed like this was going to awaken this feeling in me.

Enid went blank for a few moments and then proceeded to blush like never before while keeping her gaze fixed on the floor and her fists clenched. She couldn't hide it, her tail and ears had come out so it confirmed that she was also thinking about the same thing as me. I took a deep breath trying to calm down before I could continue with the conversation, however it was she who spoke first.

-Enid: As a lycanthrope, that you have told me that I have that effect on you, makes my inner wolf very happy - she smiled and dared to look me in the eyes - But as a teenager practically new to this thing of love, you have just completely upset me - she acknowledged.

-Y/N: I know, I can hear your heartbeat - I smiled - It beats absurdly fast, just like mine... And forgive me, this is all because I'm really clumsy for these things - I let out a nervous laugh - I just wanted you to know that you look really cute - I said stroking her head before lowering to her gaze - Seriously, so cute that I'm starting to lose my mind.

- Enid: - she smiled just a few inches from my mouth - It's really a pity that we are having this conversation in a place where there are so many people - she wrapped her arms around my waist and leaned over to whisper something in my ear - If we had been alone, maybe we would have had a different kind of conversation.

-Y/N: - I swallowed thick - Could you be a little more concrete or are you going to continue with this torture?

-Enid: Well - she kept talking really close to my face while keeping her eyes on mine - Have you heard the song Pillowtalk by Zayn Malik?

-Y/N: Who? - I asked confused making the blonde laugh.

- Enid: It doesn't matter - she smiled - If it couldn't happen now it's because it wasn't the time, it will come - she said before kissing me in front of everyone - I hope they took a picture of this moment, I love the way you're looking at me.

Damn Sinclair, she had me on my knees.
