Fifty Five

The next day, I decided to take Ariana's advice and pour my heart out to someone I trusted. After all, there was no reason I had to bear the overbearing, life-changing burden of choosing my first actual boyfriend all by myself. Especially not when I had two perfectly sane, level-headed, unequivocally wise friends at my disposal.

Now Toby and Sam didn't exactly have the best track record with handing out advice, but I thought I'd start with them since I didnt exactly have the luxury of options.

"I must say, I'm impressed with Avery. I didn't think he had it in him," Sam mused, sipping on her boba. Toby let out an incoherent groan from next to her, his face planted on the table. We both ignored him.

She frowned, crossing her arms, "He seems really serious, Jules. What are you gonna do?"

"I dont know," I grumbled. "I feel like crap."

"And how have things been going with Vincent?"

"We just went on a date last Friday."

"What? You didn't tell us!"
