When I woke up the next day, I saw on my phone that my protective shield had been activated multiple times. I also saw that Isyx didn't enter my dome. I was curious as to what happened that it had activated so often, so I opened the app and looked at the specifications of the activations. All of them were elvish, but none of them had a recognizable pattern. The DNA of the patterns was not compatible with that of Isyx, so it wasn't his mother either. I was scared that it could've been the guards from earlier, so I didn't put the shield down like I normally would, and I sent a message to Isyx. He taught me how to do that the moment we got back yesterday. It could take a while before he got the message, so I got out of bed and made myself some breakfast. I noticed that Lulu wasn't inside, so I went outside and looked for her but I couldn't find her. Lulu could go in and out the shield freely because she had no magical powers and she wasn't a magical being. I wouldn't get an alert if she would go through the shield as well. "I just hope those other elves didn't take her" I mumbled to myself.
After I finished my breakfast, someone knocked on the front door. I looked through the peephole and saw to my surprise that it was Isyx disguised as a human. I let him in and locked the door behind him. "I see you got my message?" The very thought of Isyx getting caught sneaking out to go to me was terrifying, but I really needed his help right now. "Yes, I did, and I've asked my mother, but she didn't know very much about it."
"You got the messaging down very well, though. It was even concealed for the other people around me." I noticed the surprise on his face when he told me that the message just appeared in front of him but not in the conventional way. "Isyx, you know I tinker with magic, right? I figured it would be better for the message to be a little different than usual for it to be able to reach you but not others because of the situation. Oh, and also, Lulu is missing!"
Isyx looked around for some stuff he needed but stayed in his human form because he was then unrecognizable for the other elves who could see inside the dome but not enter it. Most of the things he needed were in the garden because they were all herbs, and as you already know, I have a garden full of flowers and herbs. He also asked me to bring a pot to cook in with water from my well and to make a wooden fire. I started the fire with matchsticks because I had a feeling some people were watching, and I didn't want to raise suspicion. Isyx started throwing the herbs in, mixing them with the water while mumbling some incantations. Before I knew it, there was a lot of smoke, and Isyx had a weird glow over his eyes. It seemed like he was looking for something in that smoke but had some trouble finding it. When the smoke cleared and his eyes returned to normal, he looked at me and said: "I know where Lulu is and I also know you're not gonna laugh about it but you can be certain nothing bad happened to her."
Isyx led me to the place where Lulu was. She was in the attic. She had chosen a nice box with a bundle of old fabric to lay on. The nice surprise that waited was that she had a litter of kittens now. I was beside myself with joy about the kitty litter. I wondered how I didn't notice that Lulu had been getting more fat than usual, but I didn't think about that question too long. We left Lulu upstairs and went downstairs again, only to find the house surrounded by angry elves. "What on earth? How did they get inside the dome? I haven't deactivated the shield, and yet these elves are in my garden at my door!"
