Getting the Job

Vincent walked towards the park with careful, calculated strides. Dane was right behind him, keeping a safe distance as his bodyguard's instincts dictated to him, judging his surroundings. He had done this his whole life. He was street smart, so he knew that staying in this position would be best. However, he knew that there was no immediate threat right now, only the certainty of another argument between his employer and his employer's son. Who knew if April would also join in as well?

Dane frowned from that thought. Being in the presence of such encounters was much more difficult for him than doing real bodyguard tasks. The emotional strain was much higher, which he was never prepared for. That is what being an orphan entailed, the less emotional drama, the better. But then, he couldn't keep himself from getting emotionally involved in certain circumstances, for the sake of Joshy. He was way too attached to him already, so not caring, would be impossible.
