Quite A Lovely Morning

As I sat in the softly lit living room, sounds from the talk show i was watching played in the background when Precious finally stepped out holding her purse, her graceful figure draped in the same outfit from the night before. She still exuded the same elegance, and I couldn't help but stare, I found myself unable to tear my eyes away. Time seemed to stand still as I drank in her elegance, the way she moved with effortlessness.

Finally, breaking the silence, Precious announced her departure.

"Helloo, I'll be taking my leave now"

A hint of sadness laced my voice as I teasingly replied, "Aww, so sad you can't stay a little longer."

She turned to face me, a warm smile gracing her lips. "Yeah, sorry, but I didn't even plan this visit; it just happened. Maybe some other time."

With a warm smile of my own, I responded, "Okay then. But hold on, let me change and head out too."

I decided to make the surprise visit to my parents' house this morning. With that in mind, I headed to the bedroom to change.

I shed the casual singlet and shorts I had on, opting instead for a simple yet vibrant yellow shirt that matched the sunshine outside. Black trousers hugged my legs, lending a touch of sophistication, while comfortable black flip-flops completed the look. As I stood before the mirror, the reflection staring back at me seemed to radiate anticipation and joy.

Returning to the living room, I found Precious enthralled by her phone, the glow of the screen casting a soft glow upon her face. Her eyes met mine as I called her attention, and a surge of warmth enveloped us both.

"Alright, let's go," I announced, my voice filled with eagerness.

"Whoa, that was fast," she said, looking up at me with a hint of amusement.

"Yeah, I had already freshened up this morning. I just changed my clothes," I explained. I grabbed my keys and switched off the necessary appliances as we made our way outside, with Precious taking the lead.

As we stepped outside, Precious paused, her soft voice breaking the silence. "You're heading to your parents' place, right? Let me drop you off. Wh—"

Her voice trailed off when she saw two cars parked outside, mine and hers. She probably didn't expect me to have a car.

"Oh, would you be driving there yourself?" she asked.

I quickly responded, "Thanks, that's an amazing offer, I have no intention of getting behind the wheel for the whole weekend anyways. Today, I'll be your passenger, princess." I added with a smile as we walked toward her car, a stunning light blue Mercedes GLE Benz.

It was a car that matched her elegance, reflecting her style and class, though as she said earlier it was her dad's.

As we embarked on our car ride, I couldn't help but appreciate the smooth purr of the engine. The car exuded luxury and class, the comfortable leather seats enveloped us as she expertly maneuvered the vehicle onto the road.

"So," she began, her eyes still focused on the road, "your parents live not too far from here, right?"

I nodded. "Yeah, just a short drive to the other side of town."

The gentle hum of the engine serving as the backdrop to our thoughts. It was a serene drive, the sun casting a warm glow on the landscape as we ventured deeper into the heart of the city. The journey was off to a serene start, and the gentle ambiance made the drive incredibly pleasant.

It was during this tranquil car ride that I decided to broach a subject that had been on my mind. I turned to Precious, who was focused on the road, and asked, "Can I ask you something?"

She turned to me, her eyes reflecting the curiosity of her heart. "Of course, you can. What's on your mind?"

I tried to sound casual, but my curiosity had been gnawing at me ever since the previous night. "Last night, when you 'pretended' to be tipsy... why did you do that?"

Precious's cheeks flushed with a sudden blush, and she looked away briefly. Then, she finally turned back to me, a mix of embarrassment and honesty in her eyes. "I, um, actually don't remember much of what happened last night. But, you know, it was fun, right? It was a fun night, and, well, this morning has been... quite lovely."

Her confessions always took me by surprise, and I couldn't help but smile. "I'm glad you don't regret it. I've had a great time too."

As we drove along, a comfortable silence fell between us. It was a silence that spoke volumes, filled with unspoken emotions, desires, and a budding connection. The car seemed like our sanctuary, a place where we could explore the depth of our feelings.

Eventually, I decided to break the silence and touch upon what Precious might not remember from the previous night's festivities.

"You know," I began tentatively, "last night, when you were a bit tipsy, you shared some interesting stories. It seemed like you couldn't recall all of them this morning."

She glanced at me, a curious smile on her face. "Oh, did I? What did I say?"

I chuckled, recalling some of her incoherent yet amusing tales. "But my all time favorite was you trying to teach your cat to dance the cha-cha, but I don't think we got to hear the rest of the story."

Precious burst into laughter, her melodious voice filling the car. "Oh, I do remember that now. But seriously, how on earth did I make myself tell that story."

"It's the mystery of tipsy storytelling," I replied with a grin. "You were full of surprises last night."

She laughed again, a genuine, carefree laugh that made my heart skip a beat. It was moments like these that made me cherish our connection even more.

***

After about a 30 minute drive through town, we arrived at my parents' house, and Precious expertly parked the car outside the gate. She turned to me, her eyes shimmering with the connection we had built.

"Thanks, Precious," I replied, touched by her nice gesture. "I appreciate it."

We shared a lingering look, our eyes reflecting the unspoken connection we had developed. It was more than just a chance encounter. It felt like fate had brought us together.

Before I knew it, I had closed the gap between us, my lips meeting hers in a gentle, sweet kiss. It felt as if fireworks were exploding inside me, filling every inch of my being with warmth and love. Our lips moved in perfect harmony, expressing what words couldn't.

As we pulled away, we both wore matching smiles of pure contentment, our hearts spoke a language of their own. We sat there, basking in the afterglow of that magical moment.

"I really love moments like this" she said softly, her voice filled with warmth.

"Me too," i replied softly. "It's these simple moments that make life truly beautiful."

"So I'll call you?"

She only rolled her eyes at my words, "would you?"

I turned to her, captivated by the intensity in her sarcasm. "You know," i began, you have a way of making every moment feel extraordinary with your sarcastic nature. it's a rare thing"

She blushed, her cheeks turning a shade of pink. " I'll text you when i get home"

"Alright then, drive safe" l stepped out of the car, giving her a grateful smile, as she reversed and drove out of sight.

I made my way to my the gate. I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for us, but for now, I was content with the warmth of the present.
