Watery Depths I

"Of course," I agreed readily, without hesitation.

It had been too long since I had felt Blaise through the bond, and I felt an urgent need to rectify that immediately. In fact, I wanted to rectify this problem the moment Damon created it, but there was simply no opportunity to do so since Blaise had been sent away.

Others might think me selfish for wanting Blaise even after Damon and I marked each other, but they wouldn't understand. There was a hole in my soul without Blaise, even with Damon's presence. It felt like my soul was a chew toy, tugged into two pieces.

"You're enthusiastic about it," Blaise pointed out, and I noticed he couldn't stop the corners of his lips from rising.

"Like you're not," I retorted playfully. "I missed you. You had no idea how worried I was when I left you behind."
