Lori woke up, disoriented and disorienting, her head pounding from the excess of wine The night before. She groggily sat up, searching for the source of the noise she hears. Her eyes flickered towards the window, it's curtains fluttering in the breeze, revealing the dark and stormy sky beyond.
"Good morning, my child." The Devil's voice rung out, filling the air with an unerving sense of power. Lori jumped, her heart racing at the sound of the Devil's voice. "You've made a foolish deal, you know, trading your soul for mere fleeting pleasures in this world."
Lori swallowed hard, trying to stay calm despite feeling like the world just turned upside down. " I know it was a dangerous deal," she replied nervously, trying to gauge the Devil's mood. "But I was desperate... I didn't know what else to do.".
The Devil's chuckled, the sound echoing in the empty room. "Desperation makes us all do foolish things, my child. But do you truly understand the weight of what you've agreed to?"
Lori's heart sank. She knew she had just put herself in a dangerous situation, she had been so caught up on her problems that she hadn't stopped to consider the consequences of her actions. "I'm beginning to realize that now," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
The Devil's smile grew wider. "Good. I'm glad you're starting to understand. Now, we must begin your journey towards your first victim."
Lori felt a chill run down her spine at the Devil's words. "Victim?" she repeated, her voice a mere gasp. "What do you mean?"
The Devil's smile widened even further, revealing sharp teeth that looked like they could tear through flesh with ease. "You made a deal with me, my child. A deal that can only be paid for with the lives of others. And so, your first victim must be claimed."
Lori's breath stalled in her chest as she realized the true extent of what she had done. She had agreed to a deal with the Devil, and now she was being asked to take a life to fulfill it.
