The Market

As Eva said this, Toby looked down at the money he brought. He only had $18 to work with, and they needed to get materials for a cast from these stands. The two kids had been planning to build a cast for the bird's wing.

The clock tower is the central point for the city that Toby lives in. There are two tunnels located on both sides of the clock which operate twenty-four seven, they act as entrance and exit points, and as trade routes. Thus, this area is naturally crowded, but the crowding not only derives from the tunnels, but also the market.

The market, or plaza covers an extensive area, and here most people would transfer goods or make transactions. The market is located near the tunnels and is right next to town square on the north-west side while town square is located inside the middle of this underground city. Inside the plaza, some people would compose shops, and the lucky few would earn profits, the others would have to close down.

Toby and Eva started walking towards the market. When the market was in view, they realized that there were much more people than normal. Despite this spontaneous event Eva kept walking, Toby hesitated but walked gradually decreasing the space between them until they were close together side by side. Eva looked up and caught a glimpse of his face.

Toby didn't like big crowds which had more than fifteen people, he'd prefer to stay away from them. Normally, Toby had an avid expression, but now he looked anxious?

"No tapping out. I still need you for bargaining."

After hearing her unique response, Toby's face relaxed a little.

"That's no way to comfort someone." Toby said while walking close to her.

"Well is true, I need you cause that act of yours is hard to do. If I could pull it off I'd be getting free sweets everyday." Eva replied smugly putting her hands behind her head.

But it's true, the starving, poor, and desperate act was feasible only to Toby. Using this he could get anything with massive discounts. Although this act would prove useless after he turned fifteen.

As the two got closer to the market, Toby got an amiss or ominous feeling. He wanted to avoid the imminent situation. But before he could do anything Eva grabbed his hand and pulled him into the crowded market place saying "Lets go!" with a smile.
