Chapter 128: Combo Attack
The battle of the Avengers was underway, but countless Chitauri soldiers and Leviathans continued to pour out of the portal.
The Avengers were severely suppressed for a while because they lacked large-scale destructive capabilities . Even the invincible Hulk had insufficient impact in a war of this scale.
The first wave of Chitauri attacks, along with the resistance of the Avengers, caused severe destruction, creating great trouble for the evacuation of civilians and the rescue efforts of Benevolence Society

More people were trapped in the densely packed buildings of Manhattan, unable to get out!

Blaze pushed the crowd into the green space and took out a small acorn from his pocket, crushing it underfoot.
"Everyone, gather here!"
"Whoosh—!!"
To the astonishment of the crowd, the crushed acorn erupted with a burst of green light.
As if receiving a signal, the green space quickly filled with flowers emitting a faint glow, and the injuries of the dozen or so wounded individuals visibly healed at a rapid pace.
"Oh my God!"
The people exclaimed, momentarily forgetting they were in the midst of a war.
"This is a new technology developed by our Benevolence Society Chairman, Oaks, for emergency treatment of injuries—"
"Stop praying. I don't know if God will come to save you, but if you don't run quickly, the aliens won't spare you!"
Blaze kicked away a concrete fragment sent flying by the battle's aftermath and waved his hand.
"Quick, go! Evacuate towards the outskirts of the city! Young men, let's move to the next target!"
In various locations across Manhattan which was devastated by the aliens, the figures of Benevolence Society volunteers could be seen.
Of course, a small acorn wouldn't have such a potent healing effect. Its purpose was to mark the spellcasting coordinates for Oaks!
Oaks was currently next to the Empire State Building, adjacent to Stark Tower. He didn't want his spellcasting to interfere with the Mind Stone still in Loki's possession.
Oaks mobilized all the Nature energy throughout New York City. The years of effort by the Benevolence Society had increased the presence of special green plants in New York, and now their power was amplifying Oaks' restoration spell.
Moreover, even greater Nature energy—the power of the entire Amazon Rainforest—was being directed across the sea under Oaks' focused guidance!
Closing the portal as quickly as possible was currently impractical. Thor had been ambushed by Loki and thrown beneath a building, and Loki had already called for more Chitauri troops to come through the portal.
The battle of the Avengers continued, and they had already noticed that Oaks' spell was still in effect, along with the efforts of Benevolence Society members—
This significantly relieved their psychological pressure.
However, due to the severe lack of air superiority and the scarcity of large-scale destructive capabilities, they could only prioritize dealing with the ground forces that posed the greatest threat to civilians.
"It's time to counterattack, everyone."
Oaks' calm voice came through the earpieces.
"Thor, do you see the building with the sharp tower? Come up here. I need your lightning to hold back the miscellaneous enemies emerging from the portal."
"Great!"
"Captain, please do your best to evacuate the crowd. I need some time."
"No problem!"
"Tony, I need you to lead all the Leviathans away. Hulk will take care of educating them... Leave the little ones to me and Thor!"
"OK!"
"Also... accept my blessing!"
"Whoosh!"
All the Avengers felt as if they had been slapped by something...
A purple bear paw rune flashed above their heads and disappeared. They felt that they were somehow different now!
The Blessing of the Wild enhanced all aspects of the recipient's attributes and provided a small increase in physical and magical defense.
Time did not allow them to conduct further research. Captain America took command of the ground forces, while Tony began to attract the attention of the Leviathans. Hulk, under Banner's control, cleaned them up one by one.
Thor flew to the top of the Empire State Building with his hammer in hand and saw Oaks enveloped in green light.
He took a deep breath and admired in awe, "Impressive, Oaks... Your healing ability is unparalleled, even in Asgard! Your mastery of magic is truly incredible!"
"Just assistance alone cannot fundamentally solve the problem."
Oaks glanced at the sky and smiled faintly. "So, Thor, it's time for you to perform—electrocute those bastards!"
"I... would love to, but I'm afraid I can't."
Thor raised his hammer, summoning lightning, but he wasn't blindly confident. "There are too many of them, and my lightning's power is far from enough."
"With my help, the situation will be much better."
Oaks glanced in the direction of downtown and raised an eyebrow slightly—there, a massive amount of magical energy was already significantly limiting the size of the portal.
If it can't be avoided, just face it boldly!
He turned back, took a deep breath, and held a dazzling ball of lightning in his hands. Under Thor's astonished gaze, he lifted it over his head.
"Power of nature, help me. Storm, thunder, all are the wrath of nature. Thor, now!"
"So it was you last time!"
Thor burst into laughter. This familiar feeling, as if the sky of Midgard was helping him gather lightning, was the same feeling he had experienced during his battle with the Destroyer in New Mexico!
"Boom boom boom—!!!"
The sky was filled with dark clouds, and the unprecedented power of lightning left even Loki, who was used to Thor's moves, greatly surprised. "When did this guy become so strong?"
"Boom crack—!!!"
Blinding white lightning filled the screen, blasting the Chitauri troops that had just emerged from the portal, and even crushing some newly appeared Leviathans to pieces!
However, Thor was still a warrior, and although his lightning was powerful, it was not long-lasting.
With Oaks' assistance, thay had cleared out many small enemies and some large Leviathans from this wave, but it would be impossible to repeat this in the short term.
"Damn... there are too many of them, and they're too scattered!"
Feeling the exhaustion as the power of lightning dissipated, Thor tightened his grip on his hammer.
"It's too wasteful of energy. Is there any way to gather them together?"
"Do you want a group pull? Perhaps I can give it a try."
Oaks nodded and pressed his earpiece.
"Guys, get ready to gather and then go all out!"
