Chapter 267: Malorn, the Demigod of Nature

Oaks had become quite skilled in the use of soul magic.

Consciousness transfer could be considered the foundation of soul magic, but transferring machine consciousness onto the fragment of a demigod-level human soul was something he had never attempted before, and was a completely new endeavor for him.

Even the druids who were masters of soul and death magic could only create constructs out of the souls of intelligent beings, resulting in finished products devoid of any intelligence.

But now, with the foundation of Zola's thought framework, Malorn possessed the characteristics of both machine consciousness and natural intelligent life, making the process seamless.

Even without the Mind Stone, Oaks was fully confident!

As Oaks used the consciousness transfer device, guided by his own self-awareness and soul magic, Malorn's digitized consciousness was successfully transferred onto this cluster of demigod-level soul fragments.

These demigod-level soul fragments replaced the Mind Stone that was present during Vision's birth and became the soul vessel for the newly born Malorn!

Malorn now resembled a "consciousness doppelgänger" of Oaks—

Independent in thought yet connected in spirit, he is an AI butler who possesses limitless human potential.

He is Oaks's closest brother and most reliable partner, born relying on Oaks's soul but not being Oaks himself.

Oaks held the soul fragments that carried Malorn's consciousness, and through the connection at the soul level, he felt the latter's "joy"—

Originally, as an AI butler, Malorn lacked this emotion.

Even the current Jarvis only simulated various emotions based on external feedback.

But Malorn's joy originated from the depths of his consciousness.

It was an emotion possessed only by a true intelligent being.

And so, Oaks, too, felt joy from the depths of his soul.

He gently pressed the soul fragments in his hand into the trunk of the Sacred Oak. In an instant, a dazzling light flashed—

The next moment, the demigod-level shell of the Sacred Oak received the demigod-level soul of Malorn, transforming into a demigod-level intelligent life!

The Sacred Oak had always been the dwelling place of Havel's soul, and Oaks's soul power came from Javel's legacy.

Therefore, no modifications were needed. Before Oaks, the original soul fragments of Malorn had already fused perfectly with the Sacred Oak!

"Although you're not a deer... if you want to appear as a deer, it's not impossible."

Oaks murmured to himself, but he heard Malorn's voice from the depths of his soul:

"Um... I don't understand. Why would a tree want to look like a deer?"

"...I was just contemplating. It's better if you don't actually appear as a deer. It would scare anyone who comes in here."

Oaks smirked. The newly born Malorn was still a bit naive, and Oaks didn't include his past memories in the soul fragments, so he seemed unable to comprehend the reference...

"Ah... that idea isn't bad, actually. I think I can try... using some alternative methods."

However, Malorn seemed to care deeply about what Oaks had said. The next moment, Oaks saw something familiar—just like when he first saw Havel—

A blue light appeared before him, and then the image of a majestic white stag phantom materialized.

"Um..."

Oaks realized that Malorn had actually taken inspiration from the fleeting image of "Malorne, the Demigod" in his thoughts and shaped his own soul form accordingly.

But it didn't matter. With the body of the Sacred Oak as his vessel, Malorn really could become a demigod-level deer if the body of Durasol were here.

But the fact that the soul form could coalesce so quickly indicated that the fusion between Malorn and the Sacred Oak was going very smoothly.

Oaks could already sense the tremendous life force of the Sacred Oak rapidly nourishing his soul.

"I can move around in this form... Compared to being a tree, I feel much better like this."

The deer-shaped soul form of Malorn shook its magnificent antlers and looked at Oaks with shimmering eyes, bowing its head.

"I salute you, elder brother."

"I entrust Avalon to you, Malorn."

Oaks smiled as he watched Malorn, and nodded gently.

"This will be our foundation, maintaining the balance and tranquility of nature. Earth is just the beginning."

"I understand, elder brother. Your will is my goal."

As a being created from Oaks's own soul fragments, Malorn could be considered the individual who understood Oaks the most in this world.

As a true demigod of nature, his life level was even higher than Oaks's current state.

Having once been an AI butler, Malorn undoubtedly regarded the preciousness of "life" with awe and reverence.

"Elder brother, I have established contact with the Nature Guardian, and the channel can be opened at any time."

Soul projection screens appeared beside Malorn and countless data was flowing and refreshing on the screens. Malorn had successfully connected to the control center of the Nature Guardian.

At this point, communication between Avalon and Earth was completely unobstructed through Malorn's relay.

Once the "Life Sanctuary Plan" was completed, Malorn, or rather the entirety of Avalon, would become Oaks's most powerful Wi-Fi signal station, capable of transmitting signals throughout the universe!

"For now, there's no need to open the channel. I'll choose the location after I return."

Oaks nodded in satisfaction. With three worlds and a total of seven channels for now, there will be one each for the Nature Guardian, the Five Continent Branches, and the last one was flexible:

"Communication has been established, and your body won't be bored here—

Inform Tony and Banner about the basic situation here. They know about the Druid's legacy, but the existence of Avalon will surely surprise them."

"Understood, elder brother. Although I think it might be more of a shock."

Malorn, with a human-like smile on his deer face, opened a communication window in front of him, displaying the respective avatars of Tony and Banner:

"Speaking of which, I was originally Mr. Stark's creation... Huh?"

Before the call was made, Malorn and Oaks suddenly turned their heads simultaneously, looking towards the direction of the main channel between Avalon and Earth.

"Elder brother, the presence outside... is it Drust?"

Malorn's eyes shimmered with a faint light, and a new projection window opened, reflecting the situation outside the main channel. His tone carried a hint of anger:

"What a dark and profane power... but how is this possible?"

On the window, several constructs with Druid-style appearances appeared!

However, unlike the ones Oaks encountered here last time, these constructs were clearly freshly made, and their materials were not rocks!

"Made from the bones, tissues, and branches of different animals and trees... Who has obtained the lost Druid legacy?"

Oaks's face darkened. These creatures were terrifying, gathered at the entrance of the channel, and had already caused significant damage to the historically renowned Glastonbury Abbey, which was supposed to be a tourist destination!

"Whoever they are, they're looking for death!"

...

"What kind of monster is this!"

"Help!"

"Call the police! Quick, call the police!"

"May the Lord protect us..."

"The sanctuary! They have defiled the sanctuary... I'll fight them with you all!!"

"..."

Screams, roars, and cries filled the ancient Glastonbury Abbey.

It was dusk, with the sun's last rays of light fading, and the sky was darkening.

The profane constructs took advantage of this dimness and suddenly appeared from all directions, surrounding the ancient sanctuary!

The tourists who were about to return or go to their hotels were instantly thrown into chaos. These horrifying entities, just looking at them would induce nightmares. Why were they appearing here?

Although there were only five of them, these creatures seemed completely deranged. Anything standing in their way would be mercilessly crushed by them!

Buildings, trees, cars... Fortunately, the area was relatively spacious; otherwise, the damage would be even worse.

The abbey itself had little defensive power, and the security personnel responsible for maintaining order among tourists had never witnessed such a scene!

Witnessing the destruction of the ancient buildings, the tourists were already fleeing in all directions, some injured. The priests of the abbey were filled with anger and despair at the same time.

"The glory of the Lord shines upon this place, the resting place of King Arthur's spirit, and it has been defiled in such a manner!"

"Has the Lord forsaken us?"

As they knelt down in prayer, a melodious and wildly powerful roar came from the southwest corner of the abbey, causing them to widen their eyes in astonishment—

"Roar!!"

A challenge!

Suddenly, a massive and awe-inspiring Starlight Bear appeared out of nowhere. Faced with the soul-piercing roar, the profane constructs charged straight at the gigantic bear in unison!

A circle of thorny shadows appeared around the Stardust Bear, and a blood-red mist rose around it. Oaks had entered frenzy mode!

"Boom!"

The over three-meter-tall profane constructs clashed head-on with Oaks, devoid of any rationality.

Only now did Oaks see clearly that these things seemed to be composed of... biological tissues that didn't exist in the natural world!

Moreover, these constructs were surrounded by an aura of death, and even his claws, strengthened by the power of nature, couldn't tear them apart immediately!

"Weird, very weird..."

Oaks snorted coldly, and his perception had already captured a target in the sky—

The true mastermind was a flying entity!

And...

"What is this thing?"

Oaks tore apart the profane constructs —

In the sky, there were two life forces, but one of them was an odd-looking horse!

"This aura seems familiar..."

Thick vines rose from under the constructs' feet, firmly binding them in place. Countless thorns deeply pierced their haphazardly assembled flesh, paralyzing their struggles.

The next moment, magnificent stardust flashed above them, and then poured down like a torrential rain!

"Stardust Fall!"

"Boom!"

Oaks's figure had already moved away from the area bombarded by the stardust and returned to human form.

He furrowed his brows slightly because after the full-screen bombardment of stardust, the profane aura of the constructs... hadn't changed at all!
