Monoirister

The A-rankers of the association were accustomed to each other's attacks and quickly launched various types of skills and combination attacks to take down that monster.

However, their attacks didn't affect that thing in the least. Even the tiniest of the scratches they made on its 'skin' would heal almost instantly. Its regeneration abilities were astonishing.

Some of the hunters started to get scared and some began to start feeling dispair.

The monster's various eyes were looking in random direction searching for the 'toy' who was going around snatching away it's other toys .

When it felt something akin to the pain from a mosquito bite, one of it's eyes looked down and spotted those hunters.

Having caught the creature's attention, the hunters were scared out of their wits when it's claws headed in their direction.

The combatants raised their shields, while the mages casted barriers to protect everyone. But, those shields and barriers were as useless as their previous attacks.

The monster picked up one of the combatants as if it were plucking a flower from a garden.

Blaze caught sight of this, cliched his tongue and dashed over. He used the debris from the destroyed buildings and leaped high into the air. He unsheathed Kaiser in midair and used "slash[Lvl. ???]" to slice of the fingers of it's palm that curled around the hunter.

Of course, even an S+ ranked monster would not remain unscathed when attacked by a legendary ranked weapon in combination with an unknown level skill.

The effect was as intended and all of its fingers went flying in random directions. Blaze caught the falling hunter and swiftly landed on the ground.

That regeneration ability was at it again and then its fingers started reforming. Even though it wasn't instantaneous, but it still recovered from its injury rather quickly.

The hunters who witnessed Blaze saving the combatant and successfully injuring that creature, had bright eyes.

Blaze looked at them with a serious expression and ordered in a grave tone, "you guys stay out of it's attack range. This thing is not something that you can take on. Get away and only use long distance attacks. Archers try to aim for it's eyes and mages use flight and support magic on me."

They all quickly nodded and ran away from that place.

The monster hadn't felt this much pain from the moment it was born. That was the reason why all of its attention was on the palm that was in the process of healing.

Although this creature had teeth growing all over its face, it had no mouth. Even if it wanted to screech, it couldn't. So, there was no sound even when its fingers were sliced off . All of it's eyes were focused on it's hand, while Blaze was giving instructions.

That thing instinctively came to a realisation 'this toy hurt me, dangerous, must tear him apart.' It used both of it's claws, to entrap Blaze in its palm from both sides.

The hunters adjusted quickly to their given roles and Blaze was already flying up in the air with the help of flight magic. He easily evaded the simple attacks, that imitated the actions of trying to catch a mosquito.

While evading he looked towards the torso of the monster and thought.

{A 'Monoirister', huh? At this point I won't even be surprised if that crazy bastard of a cult leader suddenly appeared on our doorstep one morning to kill Frore. Let's just blame it all on the 'butterfly effect', shall we?}

Blaze made some sarcastic remarks in his head because he was frustrated, at not being able to catch a break and a thought flashed in his head.

{Thank goodness, I left Frore at home. He could have gotten hurt, if he was here. Looks like his 'protagonist's halo' is still working nicely. If I wasn't nearby the amount of casualties would have easily exceeded a thousand...}

Thinking this way, his emotions calmed down and he let out a short breath.

Blaze was flying using someone else's skills so he felt that it was lacking in speed, he aimed at the monster's eyes with Kaiser and "slash".

As soon as he flew upwards to reach that thing's face and launch the attack, he felt the presence of a powerful weapon aimed at his neck. But, it was already too late for him to dodge it.

{F*CK! It is not possible to dodge it with the slow speed of this flight magic--}

As he felt a chill run down his spine and was about to turn around to try and counter the weapon with Kaiser.

Suddenly the attack changed it's trajectory, and instead of his neck; it pierced Blaze's right shoulder.

"Ugh"

Blaze's attack slowed a bit and the monster took advantage of that fact and striked down Blaze with its palm, with all its strength.

Blaze slammed into the road at a high speed. The ground cracked and a deep hole was formed in the road from the impact of Blaze hitting the ground at a very high speed. Dust and debris flew all around.

Blaze's forehead was full of blood, and he threw up a lot of blood. All of his ribs were probably broken, and he must have suffered from deep internal injuries, as he didn't get up immediately.

Blaze didn't care much about the injuries from the impact, he cared more about the fact that someone had deliberately attached him with a weapon, which was at least a legendary rank if not special.

And also, about the fact that someone here had managed to diverge the trajectory of that weapon and prevented Blaze from getting critically injured.

He removed the thing that was still stuck in his shoulder, it was a dark red arrow.

The arrow evaporated in his hand.

{Dark red...? Maragmus Lee!}

Maragmus' elemental was blood, and he could make really powerful weapons. Of course, Frore in was on a different league as a weapon maker. It was one of the reasons why Maragmus had always hated Frore and had wanted to take him down.

"...that ...insanely, dumb... bastard."

Blaze wanted to curse him out, even if his throat hurt while doing so!
