Dungeon break

Two days later.

Blaze had contacted an event management company and booked a large hall for conducting the auditions. He posted on his pictogram account about the relevant information like date, time and venue. His post went viral and had managed to gather millions of views on a couple of minutes.

Blaze was satisfied with the public's reaction. He wanted to do a final check before the auditions tomorrow, but he felt like it was unnecessary to bring Frore along with him. So he left him a message on the living room table. The message said that the refreshments were in the fridge and that he was going to perform some final checks at the location, so he would be back a bit later.

Usually when Frore lost track of time while training, Blaze would bring him a towel and refreshments and remind him to take a break. But, even after a long time had passed, Blaze had failed to show up today. Frore was a bit worried, so he went upstairs to the ground floor and left the gym in the basement.

He was relieved upon discovering the note on the table. He took out the sandwiches and shake that Blaze had prepared for him beforehand, from the fridge and placed them on the rectangular table in the living room and sat on the sofa. Then, he switched on the T.V.

The reporter was talking about today's highlights and tomorrow's main events. She also talked about the auditions that they were going to conduct tomorrow.

She stopped abruptly, before tapping on her ear piece and nodding slightly. Then she started speaking again in a few moments, with a serious expression.

"We would have to stop this program for an emergency broadcast. A dungeon break has been reported in the west of Jadestine city, near the Bulkshar subway station."

"The association has already started evacuating the citizens nearby and the entrance and exit gates of the station has been temporarily blocked. We will now show you the live feed from our on-site reporters to give you a better understanding of the situation."

{'Bulkshar station'?}

Frore frowned, because the location of the building that Blaze had chosen was near that area.

The live camera footage displayed a disgusting creature that could not even be described by the word 'monster'.

That 'creature' was thrice the size of an average office building, it's width could be said to be about the size of a small county, and it's skin was a dirty brown-blackish color mixture.

The reporters on site were quite far away, but could still clearly capture the features of the 'creature'. That thing had sharp , pointed teeth and eyes growing all over its round 'face'. There was a large vertical closed eye on its stomach and it had spikes growing out of its limbs.

Whenever it moved its limbs, the buildings around would turn to pieces like they were soft plastic toys.

The association's people had arrived there as soon as they had received the report, but they were not fast enough, the running citizens who lived near the dungeon were picked up by the monster in groups like it was a child playing with figurines and it plucked the heads out of the screaming 'toys' in it's palm one by one. Then it threw the bodies and heads in opposite directions.

The reporter continued, " This type of monster has never been seen before. The association has concluded that a rank error had taken place before the dungeon break. It is estimated to be at least an S-rank. All the nearby A and S rank hunters are hereby notified to help defeat the monster. Anyone lower than the rank of A is strictly forbidden from approaching the scene."

{At least S? The situation seems very dangerous.}

As Frore's frown deepened, the camera shifted to a little girl crying for the mother and the monster's 'palm' about to snatch her from behind. Suddenly there was a guest of wind and the girl disappeared.

Then, Blaze appeared at the place where suited hunters of the association were evacuating the citizens with the girl in his hands.

There was a women with a slightly similar face to the girl, who was bitterly sobbing and begging the association people to let her go and save her child. When she saw Blaze appear with her child, she ran towards him and hugged her daughter. She then looked up and thanked him.

Blaze replied with a serious voice, "It is my duty. Now, please evacuate immediately and don't loose her again." She bowed and ran away with the other citizens.

Blaze turned around and disappeared and similarly went around helping people escape from the monster's claws.

The camera had splendidly captured how Blaze was helping the people. Frore felt very proud while looking at the scene through the T.V. screen.

He wanted to become Blaze's partner and fight together with him, but he was well-aware that in the current situation he would only get in Blaze's way. For the time being, he could only hope that Blaze would be able to take that thing down without getting injured.

The reporter stated in a relieved voice," As is apparent, Mr. Blaze, who has recently became an S-rank, is the first one to arrive at the scene. The association's A - class hunters have also arrived as we speak. Request for support has been placed to the White Tiger guild, which is the nearest of the three guilds to this region. But, hunters from their side have yet to arrive."

Frore snorted and pondered seriously.

"Looking at their leader's behaviour, it is apparent that they would rather let the citizens get killed than help Blaze in fighting that monster."

"Or, they might arrive later when Blaze had weakened the monster to steal the opportunity of delivering the final blow to the monster from him, so it will appear as if they were the ones who took down that thing."

"They might even target the exhausted Blaze and blame the creature for their doing."

Thinking along these lines, he decided to go to that place and observe the fight from a distance while hiding in the shadows. He put on a hoddie and a mask on top of his hunter clothes and went out.
