Chapter 32: Of Art and Life

“You’re everything my son said you would be,” Lyra told Reesa. “Of course, I’m aware that relaying his description might put you on the spot, so suffice it to say that you’ve made an outstanding impression.”

“I’m flattered,” Reesa said. They were packing up her display together since Harper had left for their date. Reesa was grateful for the task. It kept her from thinking too much about who she was talking to. “I feel the same way about him.”

After the last canvas was carefully put away, Aldo’s human complement, Federico, volunteered to get her and her canvases to their destination.

“I can text Myko to meet you at the door for those,” she said to him. “But please, go on without me. Thank you, Federico.”

Upon his departure, Reesa was free to take a stroll with Lyra. Although it took a few minutes for her awkwardness to subside, she was eventually comfortable enough to disclose something personal.
