Sienna was aware of what Lemiel said and hoped it would soon die down. She felt uncomfortable when she heard the maids talking about it.
"Ah, I think I should get a priest to bless the house and chase out evil spirits. What do you say?" He turned to her, shaking the wineglass with his two fingers on its stem. "The servants would no longer think that the mansion is haunted if I do that."
"My apologies for the trouble I caused, Master Lemiel. It was my fault. Do you fear that your estate's reputation is now sullied with the rumors?" she asked with a hint of sarcasm, knowing the duke was the last person to care about reputation.
He smirked as he watched her stand in the middle of the carpet in his room, several steps away.
