Anurak slept for a day and a half. When he woke up, he was no longer in chains, but the new room was bare, having only the bed he was lying on, a chair by the window, and a big TV hanging on the wall.
Feeling very weak and disoriented, he slowly got up from the bed and wobbled to the bathroom where he unloaded his aching bladder. Thankfully, this time, there was water, so he took a long drink.
Bad idea.
He became lightheaded and his guts revolted. He soon had his head buried in the toilet bowl, retching with rattling bones, until there was nothing to vomit. He then sat down, waiting for the dizziness to pass.
Just when he thought he could stand on his feet again, the door to the toilet opened and King appeared before him. Anurak's heart trembled and all that strength he managed to gather dissolved.
“Stand up,” King ordered in a stern voice, his face an ice glacier Anurak couldn't look at.
