Don't Cry

The hoarse voice King spoke to on the phone was called Hafiz. He was a local from Cameron Highlands where the Dæd-Cãd family owned several plantations. He was also a poacher and knew the in and out of the forest reserve.

After King left the cabin, he directed his men to a location Hafiz gave him over the phone. It was an underground pass that ended up in a crevice that extended into the sea. When King and his men arrived, a canoe was waiting with four peddlers. To avoid suspicion, not everyone could leave through this place, so King let the medic and Rafael, along with two other men leave with Hafiz. He then returned to the hotel in town where Anurak was waiting for him.

The moment he stepped through the door, Anurak jumped up from the couch where he was watching an F1 show.

“Phi!” His voice rang out with relief and grievance. He flew into his man’s arms and buried his face in his chest.

“I am back now.” King muttered in a low voice.
